Chase Shores Interview
Chase Shores interview. Just started listening so nothing of note I heard yet.
Edit: Nothing crazy interesting was said regarding Shores coming to LSU. He mentioned his commit was between Texas and LSU and he committed to LSU because of the coaching staff. Said he felt he can really trust them and that they would do a great job at developing him if he ends up at LSU.

San Francisco lost in the single elimination portion of the WCC tournament yesterday. We could see some portal movement on their guys as early as today. Owen Stevenson and Luke Keaschall are the guys to watch there.

do you know if guidry is going to be 2 way, position or pitcher only?

Johnson has said that he will be a legit 2 way player in some interviews he has done going over the recruiting class.

By the way Konnor Griffin is now listed as a 2024 guy now must’ve reclassed
Also Cam Cantini came in at #2 in the new class of 2025 rankings

I dont think either sniffs college.
Everytime i see a Konnor Griffin clip pop up on twitter i am amazed at some of the things he can do at that age. On the basketball court too. I think he could go in the top 5 out of HS

Is Ryan Darrah from BM on any of the 2025 lists? I think he's one to watch. Can play IF and OF. Long, rangy, loose hands at the dish. Didn't look overmatched at all on varsity as a freshman. I saw him already mature some physically over the course of the season, and has plenty of room to fill out.

For sure. That kid is incredibly gifted with his athleticism. To be a Freshman in high school and not only play varsity for baseball, basketball, and football but be the star player in all 3 as a freshman is ridiculous.

PBR hasn't updated their 2025 yet. I don't have the level of PG subscription to see if he's on theirs.

New portal arm to monitor:
Brandyn Garcia, LHP, Quinnipiac, 2 years of eligibility left.
Low to mid 90s arm, high strikeout, high walk

When you mention someone like this specifically....is it just someone youre interested in, or do you have reason to believe LSU is in contact or interested in? Just asking out of curiosity bc of how many kids will go into portal and how you distinguish who to single out

The article I read said he reclassified in order to take college visits and get the official recruiting process going.
With his dad being a college coach, I think he goes to school. Seems like LSU and State are the front runners.

Ones I have reason to believe LSU is interested in.
I've made one post about names I found interesting, but I will always make it clear that it's my thoughts when I don't know of any connection to LSU.

That’s what they said but I think the truth of the matter was he was a 16yr old freshman who was set to lose a key development year in high school when it really wasn’t needed. On top of that, that extra year of age hurts his prospect status. I don’t think he touches a college campus
His dad coaches softball at Milsaps or some shite doesn’t he?

Looks like Griffin’s move makes him a little more age/class appropriate. It will get him to his HS senior draft year earlier but he would no longer be a draft eligible college sophomore. He’ll now be eligible in 2024/2027 instead of 2025/2027.

I thought Drost was going to be a Greg Deichmann type of player for us. Sucks to lose him but we have plenty of talent in the outfield.
Posted on 5/27/22 at 1:45 pm to BayTiger13
Doughty took a big drop. Sheesh
Posted on 5/27/22 at 9:32 pm to IM_4_LSU
I agree with you. I always thought Deichmann was a good comparison. And Deichmann didn't play much his freshman year, then struggled with strikeouts his second year. It took him some time before he was good. Too bad Drost struggled so bad in the fall and spring.
