Call me petty, but seeing Notre Dame behind us in the standings brings a smile to my face.

I always wonder how Texas and Oklahoma feel when they are usually the top of their conference and now they are just better than average in the SEC.

The On3 Team Recruiting Ranking solves the problem of varying class sizes during the recruiting cycle. It compiles the highest-rated commits for each team up to a total based on a rolling average of current total commitments among Power 5 schools.

If you look at the top it says it uses the top 17 commitments for the team ranking. So they are saying that Alabama's top 17 are better than our 17 but overall our total class has a higher average ranking.

ehh, i still need TAMU to lose for recruiting purposes. Having both top Texss schools being good at the same time will not work in our favor.

I'd rather ND beat TAMU then lose to Georgia Tech in Atlanta and USC on the road.

A 10-2 ND with zero quality wins does not deserve to be in the CFB playoffs. I expect at least 5 SEC schools to finish 10-2 or better. At least 3 Big 10 teams will finish 10-2. At least 2 in the ACC and Big 12 will finish at least 10-2. That's 13 10-2 (ND included) with the best G5 team being the 14.

Nah. frick Texas A&M

Those Faggies are almost as annoying as Bama, and they’re a much bigger recruiting foe for LSU than Notre Dame is. Texas A&M losing is good for LSU.

I hear ya, but A&M will have plenty more chances to lose. Notre Dame, not so much. If they beat A&M, they are almost guaranteed to go 10-2 with 11-1 being likely.

Probably not. Doesn’t mean they won’t be in, though. And they will consider a road win against A&M a quality win. And probably any of GT, FSU, or USC unless 3 of the 4 implode.

There are probably 5 SEC schools capable of going 10-2, but the odds of 5 of them actually doing it is slim. There will be some cannibalization. And I don’t want to be one of them vying for one of the final spots against a 10-2 Notre Dame. Especially when we could find ourselves losing on the road to A&M in a tough part of our schedule. But even if we both beat A&M and finish 10-2, “deserves” got little to do with anything. They want USC in the playoff. Not just because of their brand, but because they want to spread it out as much as possible to appeal to a national audience. 5 SEC teams may make it one year, but it will be because they can’t justify not doing it. If it’s between a 5th SEC team or a 2nd Big 12 team or Notre Dame, the SEC team is going to get left out if they can justify it in any way.

You got a lot of teams finishing 10-2. I want to see how realignment plays out before predicting that. Of course 4 teams will have an extra win and 4 more will have an extra loss after the CCGs. The extra wins won’t matter as the conference champs will be the top 4 seeds regardless. But it’s going to be really interesting to see how CCG losers are handled. Does a 10-2 LSU who loses to 12-0 Georgia in the SECCG to finish 10-3 before the final poll/seedings get a worse seed than a 10-2 Texas who they didn’t play? They are really gonna have to have the foresight to think through any unintended consequences of the precedences they set this year.

Oh yeah, you’ve got 14 teams in. That’s not for 2 years. We’ve got 2 years of 12.

Tl;dr—frick A&M, but I think we’re gonna want them to beat Notre Dame. At least with A&M we play them and control our own destiny regarding them. We may still get in at 10-2 over a 10-2 Notre Dame based on SOS. But no chance we get in over them if they’re 11-1. Which they very well could be if they beat the Aggies this weekend.

Literally the 2 weirdest, delusional, and most annoying fanbases you could ever run in to.

Gonna be fun watching one of them have a week 1 loss and panic attack.

The quicker aTm gets to 8-4 the better. We don’t root for other SEC teams in my house.
Plus we’re Irish so it’s a win/win

I get it, but A&M still has plenty of chances for losses this year. ND’s patty cake schedule may only give them 1-2 more losses and guarantee them a spot in the playoffs.
