I believe the disaster part, but if the kid is told to hold off until the last minute so he doesn't have to explain his abandonment preventing his first choice to flounder in the ocean depths in search of a replacement, then Pelini was used. What a great concept by coaches to use this tactic to gain talent while goosing their rivals. It does show the young man how to cheat the system and it all becomes a big lie as we see it happening around us.
