yeah okay. That sure didn't stop Les from signing Top 5 classes. And he loved giving scholarships to specialists.

I know right. I’ve never seen so many excuses from our fans since O took over. From recruiting to the schedule as well as other things.

It’s so weird. I don’t even feel like looking it up but didn’t Les have a top five class in his final recruiting season before he was fired?

Even with Louisiana being super loaded I wold be thrilled just to see LSU wind up top five this year. I won’t conplain about not having the #1 class, but we should have a top five class.

I really like McCallum’s play btw!

Yet look what Les accomplished with all those top 5 rankings LMAO. You people just never cease to amaze me. The class isn't finished. This really does bother you that he's landing good quality players huh?

Let me tell you something smarty pants. O isn't picking these players on his own. He's letting his assistants spot the talent and hand picking these guys they think have the skills to be great at LSU with some training and hard work. Sometimes that's much better than a simple ranking.

I didn't claim that the ranking mattered last year or this year. It's nice to see our needs filled with quality guys. You know who stood out most in the spring? A guy by the name of Baskerville who was hand picked by this staff. Who wasn't ranked real high but who will def be a great player.

Their performance on and off the field will reveal their true ranking at LSU nothing more. LSU is littered with top talent all over the place. It's not like we have nothing but lower raked guys. When you have a good mix and all are hand picked, you will field a roster with quality depth. I can't wait until these guys are on the field knocking people's heads off.

Looks to me they're taking whoever wants to be on board now. They won't stop recruiting bigger blue chips and if they want in, they'll make room for them. That's how I'm seeing us taking a few of these guys recently. I don't think some of these commits are going to stick due to limited space. Just an observation. I could be wrong.

That CB LSU just took...he looks way overlooked for some reason. Not sure if his offer list is legit but his film is impressive. I'm not sure how that guy is ranked so low honestly.

I'm excited about the middle linebacker position. Taylor, queen, Philip's, and now McCallum, I think were set for years to come inside.

Do understand that we have a kicker and a long snapper bringing down our average score? Or are you just a fricking dumbass that wants to be negative and not adress that issue. Do you realize most of the guys left on the board are going to be 4 and five stars, or are you just a fricking dumbass that negates that too. You are one miserable frick.

You people are insufferable. Dave Aranda, who knows more about LBers than anyone on this board, REALLY wanted this guy. Guy could be a one star for all I care, I have 100% faith in Aranda.

would you guys complaining about the star ranking of some of recruits rather the coaching staff make decisions on who to offer to based off of the recruits star ranking or off of their own evals?

Since McCallum is "just" a 3 star, should they not have offered him but instead have offered a 4 or 5 star who had worse film and looked worse in the summer camps and faired worse in the staffs own evals? I think the staffs objective should be, and is, to get the best players they can to LSU regardless of recruiting services rankings.

This staff seems less interested in winning the recruiting championship and more interested in winning the football championship.

If arguably the best Lb coach in football wants him, well LSU does not pay me 5mil per to make that choice.

I will say I like the types of players O gets and some of the guys Miles would not be able to get.

Honestly, the defensive recruits I'm far less worried about because Aranda clearly signed off on them.

And I think he's a genius.

But the TE is straight up baffling. A position we have plenty of bodies at.

To compare a 15th final ranking in 2018 to a June 2018 3rd ranking for 2019 is what baffles me.

I think it's more likely that he puts on 35-40 pounds and plays tackle than it is he ever takes a snap as a TE for LSU.

Just my opinion.

ETA: Either that or he's a good athlete that has somehow completely slipped through the cracks of all recruiting services.

In Les' 11-plus seasons with the Tigers, LSU averaged 10 wins a year and won more games from 2005-2015 than any other program in the SEC over that 11-year stretch and had an impressive OOC record beating some pretty big programs

What happened to the LSU and the rest of the SEC was nick Saban arrived at Alabama. Look at all the coaches that ended up leaving after his arrival.

I am pretty sure that is the objective of 95% of college coaching staffs. However, your overall ranking/average stars has consistently correlated with your success on the field. Don't be delusional or have a mid major fan mentality that stars don't matter.
