I’ll respond to OKtiger, since he was the first with my same grade, A-.
This isn’t finished, far from it.
The portal is still wide open. We go through Spring, roster will change again.
Kelly wants to stay heavy in the state, but as with anything, you have to go outside.
A college coach I know, once told me,”You better learn to read kids early in this profession!”
Most times a assistant or Head Coach will know if a kid is coming. Kelly and staff knew who was coming. You see a kid flip, Kelly had another step up and commit. He’s been one step ahead.
How can anyone doubt, he took a roster, completely rebuilt it, beat the little short guy, won the West, a shot at a 10 win season.
If you don’t think Kelly can pull a Gordon (Get It Done!), you haven’t followed how he’s rebuilt programs at each stop.

He never said he came to the SEC to challenge Nick Saban. He said he came to the SEC to BEAT Nick Saban. He's already 1-0 on that front, taking a pieced-together roster and beating Saban's group of all-stars.

This recruiting class is very good, and future classes should also be very good, likely better than this one. Kelly is 1-0, and he's not backing down. This class is just fine.

B+? Pretty harsh grading of a consensus Top 10 class.

My grade is a solid B+.
My analysis: we are not in the top 5 rankings of any recruiting service. Most 4* are the under 150 ranking. We didn’t get any super DBU corner. We got to any edge and not enough beef in the middle. Two linebackers, really, even counting the portal so far. We are weak at center and didn’t pick one up. We consistently had our shite pushed around on a bull rush up the middle. Yes, some players are better than ranked but some are worse. The transfer portal put us at a strong B+. If we add Renfro and a good backer I would say bases covered for an A. But then again when compared to Georgia and Alabama’s last three years we are well behind.

Our offense totally matches up to the best in the SEC accept the QB room. To clarify, not counting the last two recruits. It’s my opinion. We can wish either one would improve certain parts of there game but I don’t see it for the one who already has four years as a starter. But I pray he does.

I’m more worried about the defense keeping us in games next year as it struggled down the stretch last year. Of course the offense didn’t help much either. I still think we can have a top ten team. Geaux Tigers.
