Unfortunately, I am 90% sure neither him nor Marshall will attend LSU.

What '18 QB prospects do you think we are after?

We don't need Rogers, he would just be a luxury.

But after an avg WR class this year, we need Marshall. That kid is a monster.

I honestly don't understand all the negativity heading into next season. With the two coordinators we have right now, we aren't going to lose a lot of games. If people are apprehensive about what happens when they both move on, I can understand that, but the next one to three years look positive with the talent in the program and the coaching we currently have in place.

Lately I think it's coming from the Juluke reassignment and Parkway's HC negative comments about the way he thinks LSU treated Brandon Harris.

Honestly its only day 2 of coaching hires. Check back after boys from the boot and see how we stand in recruiting. My money is it will be looking totally different.

That's understandable considering the track record of Miles and Cam. He has a lot more legitimate of a gripe than the rabble in NOLA right now, because this negatively affected a player of his. O and Canada need to be pro-active and get in front of him and other coaches in the NW LA area to let them know that the days of that kind of offense are over, and that kind of offensive mediocrity won't be allowed anymore. It may take a while to fix what Miles broke there, but time and success should eventually change minds there.

I agree. Apparently rodgers and marshall are a package deal.

If there is anything I have learned from following recruiting it is that there are no such things as packaged deals.

I am sure this kid's parents are thrilled with their son's coach turning him off of potential scholarships, especially his home state school.

“I will not be playing college football in Louisiana,” Rogers tweeted.

So, what gives?

Rogers, the top-ranked quarterback in Louisiana in the Class of 2018, added an offer from LSU last July when Les Miles and Cam Cameron were on the staff. The Tigers continued to court the 6-foot-4, 180-pound prospect throughout the fall and were planning to make a stronger push now that Ed Orgeron and Matt Canada were in place for the new recruiting cycle.

Orgeron and area recruiter Steve Ensminger were in the Bossier City, La., area earlier this winter to check in on the 4-star quarterback. Both told Rogers that Canada would soon be in touch.

That never transpired, which led to Rogers’ tweet on Tuesday and a likely no-show at LSU’s “Boys From the Boot” event on Feb. 18.

“I haven’t heard from Canada yet,” Rogers told SEC Country. “I asked coach Ensminger about it one day. He told me I would hear from him (Canada), but I never did.”

quote:

“I have no idea,” he admitted, “but neither me or my family is happy about it. … It’s just a business and he (Canada) wasn’t interested. LSU is not Louisiana-made anymore.”

Rogers’ interest in the Tigers is glaring. He was expected to name them as one of his top schools heading into the spring.

Equally as significant, Rogers’ top target is 5-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. Previously, Rogers told SEC Country that he and Marshall are a package deal.

LSU has other offers out to 4-star quarterbacks Artur Sitkowski (IMG Academy) and Dorian Thompson-Robinson (Bishop Gorman) but stood its best chance of securing Rogers.

Now, LSU and Canada face an uphill battle.

“Not anymore,” Rogers said. “They offered multiple 18s and I haven’t heard from him (Canada) yet, so they aren’t interested in me.”

“The head coach would coach me every day, but he wouldn’t teach me what I need,” he added. “What I need is a relationship with the offensive coordinator. That would be the most important.”

No problem. If he doesn't want to be at LSU, I don't want him at LSU. There are plenty of other kids chomping at the bit for an LSU offer.

He actually wants to be offered by LSU. He definitely has hard feelings over Canada not contacting him.
