Is this message board translation to “he’s just not good enough to play at LSU!” True or False?

I firmly believe that the majority of people unhappy or disappointed in some of these kids committing haven’t even watched film and just base their opinion off of recruiting rankings (which change 4 More times before the end of the recruiting season)

This is how a few boards are coming off. Looking like a probable top 5 class. Is it just #1 class or bust?

What is it with some of you? What exactly is it that you want?

When people say that, it immediately signals to me that they just are not very knowledgeable about sports. Being able to evaluate and identify players that can flat out play and fill your needs is always priority. Fans with less knowledge star gaze and don’t recognize underdeveloped potential

Some posters just bitch. It's their thing. I'd like to think they will just head back over to the rant if people stop stroking their egos over here.

Have an Up vote, sir.

I trust the staff, especially when it comes to camp offers where they have had the opportunity to directly evaluate the players.

I think people look at who they have offers from first. Then they look at the ratings. It has to be a combination and the needs have to be there. If you know you need several LBs, taking a 3* with limited offers that can develop or can maybe switch positions isn’t a bad idea. I trust in Aranda for developing 3 * based on his track record. Other than that, you’ll always be compared to Bama and they rarely if ever take a 3* at LB, qB, RB, etc.

For some people it apparently is.

Last season Bama took Slade Bolden (RB), Jaylen Moody (ILB) and Layne Hatcher (QB). All 3 stars. 7 total 3 stars.

Of course they had a lot of high rated guys too, but Bama us going to get pick of the litter until they get knocked down a peg or two.

I’ll tell you what I want. I want the coaches to see and evaluate these kids and make the best decisions based on real evaluations. It certainly looks like that is what’s going on. I don’t really care what a recruit evaluation website guy sees as much as the what the coaches see at camps. If they see enough to make an offer, and we aren’t desperate, that’s good enough for me.

how true. the average person on here has never seen players film and would not know how to analyze it if they had. the star rating is all they have. and yes, being rated #1 every year is better than being #20 every year as a class but any individual rating in subject to much error. rating a 17 year old that you want to star on your team as a 20 year old is fraught with uncertainties.

and their commitments are indeed going to get a "bounce" for being wanted by Bama. part of that "bounce" is probably justified as Saban and staff are damn good evaluators of talent

You would’ve thought Bolden was a 5 star from the way people on here were bitching and melting when he committed there.

I like every defensive recruit Aranda, O, Busch, and Raymond want.

I don't like Ensminger signing a project QB when he's never developed anyone in his long, sub par career. Hope I'm wrong and Steve comes out like Norm Chow on LSD, but there's nothing about his resume that makes me think otherwise.

Slade Bolden - was taken as an athlete and is playing DB. But remember this little fact - named the Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year ...

I do agree that it is depends on needs.

He was originally listed as an APB and was the 496th ranked player. Did he even play DB at WM? He was a QB/RB/WR but I don't think he played any D. But we did the same with Netherly so who knows.
