LSU netted a commitment from Florida SouthWestern State College shooting guard Charles Manning, who announced his commitment on Twitter Monday evening. The 6-5, 180-pound guard took an official visit to LSU over the weekend, which he told Geaux247 was outstanding.

"Just felt like home when I met the coaches and visited," Manning told Geaux247. "The coaching staff is great and going to help me fulfill my dreams. The teammates treated me like I was their brother and that played a big part!

Not a lot of major offers, but a great pickup he will do great in this system and is great in transition.

I just trust Greg Heiar when it comes to these juco guys. He's as connected in that world as anyone, so he knows who can play or not.

These are the kind of kids he helped build Wichita State with.

LSU will have 3 scholarships to replace after the season. Could be more depends on who goes pro. But now that a shooting guard has committed I wonder if Wade has room for shooting guard Lester Quinones who has CB'd 100 percent to LSU. Not that Manning is a bad choice. Just the opposite, he is a very good player and super athletic. But, he will only have 2 years whereas Lester is a HS senior. LSU def. needs a big man in this class. Maybe 2 depends on what Naz does after the season.

They want Quinones along with Manning. Right now, I think a realistic class is:

Bishop
Manning Jr
Quinones
Walker
Sy

Bishop
Manning Jr
Quinones
Watford
Sy

5 I think we get

Balanced class and fills all the needs, as well as brings in JUCO toughness/leadership.

I will take that in a heartbeat!!! Walker is, of course, a highly rated HS player, and Quinones a highly rated HS CG. Manning and Bishop and Sy are not as highly rated at this time, but they all can flat out play with anybody. I really felt good about Watford at one point as well as Avery Anderson and Tyreek Smith. I know Anderson committed to OSU and Smith to TAMU. I don't know if LSU backed off or they just wanted to go elsewhere. But this probable list is a good one. I'm nearly 100 percent certain Naz is gone after his freshman season. IDK about Waters, but I saw some film of him playing during the summer and he is even better. So, I'd think he's gone after this season.

Billy Embody had some pretty glowing things to say about Manning. He compared him to a more athletic Daryl Edwards. Said he has a high motor, can shoot the ball, can defend, and is a winner.

Hyatt and Cooper will likely redshirt, which almost makes them part of the 2019 class.

Yea, I’m always down to bring in another Edwards or Taylor. These kids are hungry and want to win.
