tell me that in a couple of years when Guice is gone. I never said it felt like Faulk was going to a rival. It's just that Akers would have been a centerpiece for Canada to build around for years to come. It would have been a momentum builder

Akers would be a great addition no doubt, but him choosing FSU over a conference opponent is the second best thing that could happen. Jimbo's offense isn't designed to beat you with the running game. Although he will be good there, we'll be set up to easily stop them with our dl haul should we ever face them. LSU is easily the best choice if he wants to be remembered as a premier college running back, but other factors might outweigh that decision in his mind.

Regardless, Canada will find ways to utilize our strengths. If he doesn't have Akers, he will focus elsewhere.

Dalvin Cook looked unstoppable against Florida's defense (albiet the only Florida State game I watched this season). I would imagine Akers will step right in.

And in other games Cook was almost non-existent. If you've seen anything about Canada you'd know his scheme is designed for RBs to flourish.

I've been an LSU fan for nearly 4 decades. I never remember is not having at least one really good running back on the roster. We will be more than fine without Akers.

Jimmy Deets is hit or miss on this stuff, take his opinion with a grain of salt.

Isn't everyone hit or miss on this stuff. You just need to make sure the hits are more frequent than the misses. I don't understand why our fan base gets so riled up over things like this.

Wait what?? Go look at T Etienne highlights and picture him with about 10 or 15 more pounds of muscle playing in Canada's offense. Dude LSU is perfectly fine and will always be fine at the HB position. Louisiana is a rushing state and we have plenty of RBs. Even our guys we have to pass on start for D1 teams. I've seen Travis up close and the boy is punished everyone knows exactly what Jennings will do and he gets tons of yardage. I wasn't sure of him at first but he's even better this year then last by a good margin and I say that continues at LSU if he comes. We also have a decent back already in this class not an every down back but he prob could be if needed. Travis will be an every down back he's one of the toughest backs in La and one of the fastest not just fast but gets to 100% very quickly. My view has totally changed with him. If he was 6'1" 220 he would be a 5* or very high 4* or should be. To me he's a smaller Cam but possibly runs harder then cam and has unbelievable balance. The kid is good enough to star in Canada's system for sure. Will probably peak his RS sophomore year or junior year in college and should play around 215-220 or so. He's what 210 now. Powerful for 210 imagine 220 or even 225? He's gonna be a good one.

1. Akers, Narcisse, and any other offensive recruit obviously was gonna start trending away with no OC. Once an OC was hired, we went right back to being in a position to sign any offensive recruit we were after

2. Raymond was never going anywhere and that should've been obvious

3. I'll give you Buggs. No reason we should've fired BDP when we did

The article was an overreaction at the time but I understand why you put it out.

1) The article spoke on momentum and the impact of not hiring an OC by the official visits. I don't understand the confusion. It's as if you're set on trying to make me look bad instead of thinking logically and looking at the facts.

2) You have no idea. Corey is a close friend of mine. You saw the new contract didn't you?Let's just leave it at that.

3) I'll take it.

The article was on point. It was based entirely on momentum and how things were working against LSU. If Narcisse didn't come back, and he was leaning Auburn BTW, and Rice doesn't commit, or they don't decide to go back after Guidry, which was also after my article, then you would have nothing to argue. Which is why I tweeted this yesterday.

So the rumor about O and Corey getting into it was true then?

You have a new prediction piece coming soon? Waiting till after the dead period?

How many LBs and who are our best shots? (i'm including Chaisson and Bryant in the LB category)

Did you have any inclination Rice was coming here or was it the same shock as the rest of us?

Having Aranda sit at the airport and not accept the visit certainly could not have boosted confidence

No, it's not true. Corey had the Les Miles clause in his contract. Nothing was guaranteed from here on out. He needed a new deal.

Jimmy, I have a question I'd like to ask you:

How much do you think online chatter affects recruits, their perception of the fans, coaches, and the school?

I hardly think that message boards and such determine where any given player will sign, but the gossip that floats around must have some effect on how recruits view different schools, right?

A huge number of Ranters have claimed 1) that recruits probably aren't even aware of message boards, 2) they give zero weight to all the chatter, if they are aware of it, and 3) that there is absolutely, positively, zero effect on any recruits in any way.

there's no specific answer to this. Every kid is different.

Some seek out the message boards. Some don't. Some seek attention and thrive. Some kids don't even have twitter.

It's like people in your life. Some post on facebook, some don't. Some don't care about social media.

But I will say message board chatter will get back to the majority of kids some way or another. It is what it is though and a good coach will tell each kid not to pay attention to that stuff.

I prefer that people don't call out kids on here, but it's not my website and it's none of my business what others post. The end of days posting everyone did after O was hired, didn't help us one bit. People of all fan bases were reading that stuff and so were media members. Recruiting is similar. You don't have to post all sunshine pumping, but you shouldn't come on here and call a kid out. There's just no reason for that stuff.

So, Duckie has just confirmed what the adults on this site have been saying all along...the Negatards have in fact hurt LSU with some recruits...so the Negas are not really true LSU fans as they keep up their stupid negativity...thanks Duckie for backing up the grown-ups here on the site...
