Cliffs of video: Jake Crain claims than an LSU coach once flipped a top flight running back from A&M to the Tigers by calling the recruit's family from a pay phone and impersonating the A&M coaching staff, telling the family that they miscounted their scholarship numbers and had to rescind their offer. The kid allegedly committed to LSU the next day.
I looked through our RBs from 2011 to present on 247 and cannot find any highly ranked RB we flipped from A&M. I know they were after Justin Vincent in 2001, but don't think he ever committed to them.
Anyone older than me have any memory of a big time RB flipping from Aggie to LSU?

If it was a pay phone we have to be talking decades ago.

Did not listen, but if he's telling a story like that then he should provide a time reference.
Good point.

Gotta be. It's the only one that fits the profile.

Oh, right on baw. Let me be clear: frick A&M. If we cheated them out of something, I wholeheartedly support it.

He's talking about Harvey Williams but it's a fake story.
Harvey was like their Leonard Fournette
His high school band was playing the A&M fight song when he came into the room to sign

He says because coach went to another program but I know exactly how much money he was paid to come to LSU.

Interesting. Too young to remember the dude and he played in the Dark Age of LSU football but it sounds like the late 80s teams had a lot of potential.

If it was Harvey Williams it worked out well as Harvey was a very good RB and a 1st round draft pick.
