And FSU's OL still hasn't recovered.

Cuckbo had one good year with a bunch of seniors and a soft arse schedule in a horribel year for the SECW. Barely beat a UF team with no defense and still got boat raced by Bama. They are closer to OM than they are Bama and will never win shite just like the last 100 years.

It is really fascinating the media loves up on aTm knowing all of this:

Well let's look at that. How many safeties and DB's make it in the NFL. More from LSU or more from TAM Not even close. NFL is dotted with LSU DBs and safeties. Not so much from TAM.

Elko should be in line for a head coaching job very soon.

He's already had interest. Elko has the defense looking good. Without him i don't think they get half these recruits.

He said it would only leave for the perfect opportunity.

Yeah he went into depth about Texas AtM how it’s hard to get away from the success they had on defense and how their defense coordinator uses his safeties like Jamie Bates and derwin James

This is weird because Derwin James went to FSU and never played for Elko

He’s a Tiger, you can see it all over him. Imo the interest in other schools is to build up his recruiting hype, try to build suspense, have some fun and build some buzz for himself. I can just see that he’s a home boy and loves the Tigers! He’s making it happen with A&M. No way he goes that school if he looks at everything.

It’s worth sitting a year or two at LSU then it is to start right away at A&M. Just my opinion but I’ve been watching snd involved with football since I was 7 or can remember listening on the radio, going to games in my teens and current. For over 35 years so that is quite a bit of football experience and history.

These young men just don’t realize how long LSU has been good at football. Even when we weren’t all that talented, we would upset the ranked teams often because of heart and passion for the game. LSU just fits this guy period! Oh and we have the best DB coach in the country. If and when this new DC proves to be a home run, and I think he will, this guy will not be able to help it. Go Tigers!

Just to emphasize that point: Jamal Adams just became the highest-paid safety in the NFL. And, living in KC, I can tell you that the rumors are that Mathieu's contract extension might also be in the stratosphere.

Aggie can't say that about anything. Well, they do have that one old dude playing defense for the Donkeys LOL....

FWIW the Rivals guys once again think Matthews stays home:
Rivals article that came out yesterday:

quote:

Fact or fiction
LSU and Texas A&M are the front-runners for Jacoby Mathews but it's likely he ends up back where it all started - with the Tigers.

Gorney’s take: FACT. I want to think Texas A&M has a real shot because Jacoby Mathews has shown so much interest in the program, has already visited multiple times and plans to be back this fall but history is just not on anyone’s side when it comes to No. 1 players in the state of Louisiana. It was a decade ago that Landon Collins picked Alabama over LSU, the last top-ranked prospect in the state to go elsewhere. There’s no guarantee Mathews ends up No. 1 in the state but he’s there now and LSU has lots of history on its side.

Spiegelman’s take: FACT. Since Ed Orgeron took over at LSU he's been able to keep the top players in-state, especially when it comes to No. 1 in-state. Texas A&M has a star-studded recruiting class and Mathews has a lot of strong ties to those players and he's been to College Station twice and will likely return before he makes up his mind. Jimbo Fisher coached Derwin James and his track record has Mathews' attention in a big way. I'd also expect Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma to make a run at Mathews, but with so many ties to LSU -- including the coaches, current commitments and players on the roster -- the Tigers will remain in a favorable spot.

Now do 2018. Jimbo had his staff stop recruiting months before he officially left. The program WAS in shambles.
