We need our burner phone guys calling defensive linemen on other P5 teams and making strong arse offers. Can't bank on landing 2-3 legitimate linemen from the portal in spring. Get together the money earmarked for Wingo, Smith, and Bussey and go get me some legit mercenaries.

Coaches won’t be making those calls and those calls don’t go directly to the players either generally speaking. Your bagman calls a family member of the player and tells them to let the player know what we can offer.

I'm all for what works and is reasonably within the rules.
I mean, the last time UGA was outside the Top 5 in recruiting, Obama was President.
LSU is obviously losing an arms race (with 2025 looking to be an exception). I don't have any good answers except to balance the team, lock down the state and keep looking out for the next Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels. We probably can't afford/can't find a whole team full of players like that (e.g. Bama or UGA), but enough in the right spots can make us competitive in December/January.

Every school in the country tampers. Jordin Gilbert was heading here before he entered the portal. Some are just better than others at it

With the way the rules are today, there really are not any hard and fast rules. So much is a matter how you interpret the rules. Also the rules seem to change with each court decision. NIL has made this all available to anyone who has the financial resources and the desire and need to fulfill their wish list. I thought we should have gone after Walter Nolen but maybe we did and just did not get him. There was some talented D line players available but then we did not have the coaches in place at that time to attract them.

It's time to tamper with the Bama signees... that got duped into going to class that day of Saban's retirement announcement, therefore delaying their tranfer option till the spring.
