Its time for LSU to go a bit all in in the transfer portal this offseason.

Ole Miss style, its time to be very aggressive, right?

Yes you have a strong recruiting class coming in (possibly), and had a good one last year. You're spending a lot of money there.

But you are entering year 4 of the BK era and you haven't made the playoffs or really come close. You absolutely have to make it in year 4 or 5, and honestly probably win a playoff game or two by year 5. If you don't the seat will be scorching hot in 2 years, as it should be, and you may be looking at Jimbo situation.

You've got to fricking win, now. You've got to get bigger and stronger and more aggressive as you were clearly outmatched and outclassed by Bama.

OL, DL, LBs, WRs, possibly even at QB.

Am I way off base here recruiting gurus? Do you think the current plan of spending much more in recruiting, developing those guys, and then being very targeted in the Portal is the right way to go? Or should they be more aggressive getting Portal talent all over the team?

BK’s job is to put the best players on the field.

He’s going to have to go into the portal to do that at some positions.

He will do it because his job requires and depends on it.

I get that, and they've already tried to do that in the past with some mixed results.

I'm talking about kind of more of what OM did this offseason, a very all in approach going after big time Portal players at a multitude of positions, even if you don't necessarily have the biggest need there.

All I know is he needs to find a better guard and center combo than what we have now. We have to improve at safety too.

Nuss turning into Jamie Howard means he’ll likely be back (and give us a buffer before underwood) so that’ll allow us to spread what would have been QB transfer money to other key spots. I do think we need at least one impact WR. Definitely need help on defense and OL. Bring in starting ready players and allow some of these young guys to keep marinating.

Me watching Gio Paez get pushed back 4 yards while Walter Nolen makes the mid season all-American list at ole miss.

Yeah that seems to be the route to go.

They definitely will need to bring in a high end WR, maybe even 2.

DL and OL are musts as well. They've got to get bigger and more physical there. Safety.

Honestly an upperclassman RB might be a need.

Honestly I think Underwood’s 2nd year starting is the year to do that if we’re buying sole one and dones, but it needs to be done in the near future.

Ole Miss went all in because this was their best chance of making some type of run in their program's history. You only do this if you are pushing all your chips in and don't care about the year after. I would bet doing this is ultimately a net negative down the road if you don't win a NC or come very close.

The game has changed. BK isn't keeping up. Developing players is now a very small part of college ball. BK hasn't recruited well defensively, and it shows. He didn't do much to supplement the roster via the portal either. I have very little confidence in him using the portal and getting players who can actually play.

Lets not act like he is Clemson. We have plenty of portal guys, too dependent on CB. DT portal hurt us, i do think he underestimated the amount of money the 2nd transfer window guys were going to get offered. But we are starting 3 DLine out of the portal and a CB. Our top 3 Wrs are from the portal. 1 oline from the portal.

He hit year 1 on some guys, missed year 2 on some guys. Needs to be more aggresive early and not wait for 2nd portal window. DT was hurt bc of of the uncertainty of the guys who went pro, maybe needs to be more forceful with guys making those decisions. shite or get off the pot.

BK sucks at finding impact dt's. Look what USCe did to Milroe. They have a real d line. BK is terrible at recruiting d linemen and db's. Our safties are other worldly bad.

No doubt he missed this past year. But he did bring in Swinson the year before and Wingo the 1st year. Paez should have been the 3rd or 4th DT and rotated in. Again, he waited for whether Smith and Wingo were going pro and missed out on the early period DTs. Then all that was left was guys getting more money then he was willing to spend. Guillory getting hurt, did not help at all.
Shand would be doing better if he was still the backup to Savion. He shouldn't be a down lineman.

He has misjudged the safeties. Allen getting hurt hasn't helped, but depth is not there. Young guys aren't ready.
