Is there a reason the Etienne's hate LSU besides offering Travis late?

They reportedly received a lot of hate from LSU fans before the Natty with Clemson.

This is classic Etienne. Trey broke up with Etienne because Marine Cannalan said that she saw Etienne flirting with Walt Timmy at a party, but he was only doing it to make Trey jealous because he thought Trey secretly liked Erin Hennebrary. But Trey didn't like Erin Hennebrary, it was all a bunch of bull.

It's not really that the brothers hate us, more so it being about the Mom and other family members saying things about LSU fans that have never been substantiated. It's just created a weird dynamic where either side’s positions hasn't been walked through, let alone talked through.

Travis was slow played by LSU during his recruitment. CEO, Jabar Jaluke, and Jeff Grimes went "All In" for Cam Akers since Clyde had already committed. When LSU coaches finally accepted reality that Akers was committing to FSU, they pushed hard for Etienne. By then it was too late since Travis felt LSU should have offered him much earlier in the process. Dabo came in at the last minute, told Travis what he wanted to hear, and the rest is history. The family (mom) had a bad taste in her mouth from Travis' recruiting as Trevor was NEVER coming to LSU

Travis was never coming to LSU. I remember his recruitment well. Early, early on, he had a list of top 7 schools; none were LSU, and none on that list had even offered him yet. In fact, Clemson offered AFTER LSU offered and he had no problem with them slow playing him. And LSU fans were generally fine that he chose Clemson, if was the “real Death Valley” comment during his commitment reveal that cemented his fate in the ire of LSU fans. They just are not LSU people. Not totally uncommon; not everyone in Louisiana is. But Travis not coming to LSU is on Travis, not the coaches.

Actually we were feeling like our momentum was growing and he was trending our way at last and then he went to that late Clemson trip and it was over.
Not pushing 100% for him from day one was a mistake but he had a hell of a career so we really can’t begrudge his decision.

Pretty much this and the icing on the cake was Juluke missing a visit with Travis bc he fell asleep.
