Is Sampson better out of high school than Malichi Dupre and/or T Marshall

Dupre was less than stellar at LSU. So hopefully like Marshall

Dupree was a stud. We forget that he came out of a system that passed very little in HS and was still a consensus 5*. Had he been at LSU a few years later versus the Miles era then he’s a 1st round pick.

Dupre had way more potential than what he showed at LSU. Went from a run heavy offense in high school to another in college and wasn’t able to develop his skills.

Shelton is probably as fast or faster than Terrace with a similar frame, catching, and route running. Possibly a little more explosive.

The potential didn’t show in the NFL either

His film and build looks way more similar to Terrace Marshall than Dupre IMO. Dupre didn’t have the smoothness and soft hands that Sampson and Marshall have on film, I think Dupre’s rating came from the fact that he was a physical freak and a really good runner after the catch and not so much because he was a polished wideout, which I think Sampson is

His high school tape presents more like Reuben Randle. Outside X WR who is most comfortable stretching the field.

Want to see more of what he is capable of, but the route tree that Catholic High uses him on is rather basic. Either run by the CB, or throw it up so he can high point it. He’ll get a screen thrown to him here or that.

Hard to tell what he looks like in the middle of the field, or running after the catch.

I think LSU had 11 wide receivers drafted in the Miles years including 3 in the first round, 2 in the second and 2 in the third.

I don't think it had anything to do with Miles because he had no trouble putting WRs as high picks in the NFL even handicapped by his scheme. The reality is Dupre was a bust. He never adjusted to the college level or NFL. Not sure what it was but the game was too much for him on both levels so he never adjusted to past HS. He was probably overrated more than it had anything to do with Miles because if Miles was the handicap he would've put it together in NFL.

Now, you can put someone like Russel Sheppard on Miles. He didn't know how to use him as you saw in the NFL where he had a good career.

Sampson is arguably the #1 WR in the country.

Probably a legit 6-3 190 and ran a 4.35 at camp prior to his junior year.

Catholic didn't go to him a ton last year, but I suspect they will make the passing game more of a priority this year.

Sampson & Brown may well be the best WR combo signed this year and they complement each other well.

Chi had all the potential but didn't put in the work.

Dupre may not have lived up to his 5 star billing but y’all are acting like he was some scrub that barely got on the field. He had several big games for us in his career. The Louisville bowl game, 2015 florida, and 2014 bama off the top of my head

Malachi should have returned for his senior season and could’ve had a Travin Dural like senior year. Definitely would’ve been selected higher than he was. He was barely taken in the 7th round after his OK junior year

He and 2nd round pick/current NFL wideout DJ Chark were part of the same signing class at LSU...

Travin Dural had an awful senior year. He never really returned to form after his injury.
