Curt Cignetti did the same thing by taking all his James Madison players to Indiana. Everyone praised him for the job he did rather than criticizing him.

They would be praising Lane without end if he had gone to Alabama.
People like Rece Davis, Mark Ingram, Greg McElroy, etc. would be jizzing their pants at the thought of a Lane Kiffin era at Bama.
This absolutely spot on. And you can include Finbaum. If Kiffin had left Ole Miss for Bama or Texas they would all be talking about what great move for Kiffin, what a great hire by them, a no brainer decision for Kiffin, you can't pass up either of those opportunities. All of that. And neither would have allowed those coaches to keep coaching and would have escorted Frank out of the door and would have had Brad Davis take over as interim.

Iowa State has something like 50 players in the portal from what I read somewhere with only something like 17 scholarship players on the roster now.

I disagree. They would be practically worshipping him if he had left Ole Miss for Alabama.
It's the perfect storm. They hated LSU and Kiffin before the combo.
It just became a giant meth-explosion-in-my-bama-trailer level of vitriol once we got married.

Shitty team at ISU but hey things could change at PSU haha

Little bit exaggerated at 30+ when there is only 24 portal transfers and 20 are from ISU. But get you drift.
I went to On3's transfer portal page for Penn State. Then looked only at who is committed. There may be some duplicates in there I guess if On3's website is shite. I did not look for duplicates, just counted the ISU->PSU list.

Nope, he’s an honorable guy just doing his job and Lane is a scum bag/villain/narcissist or whatever.
So dumb.
So dumb.

Thats the part that doesnt make sense to me. They sucked in the big 12 but think moving to the big 10 with these players is going to make them better.

Not long before that they were all bleeding from their vaginas over the Will Wade accusations. Before that they were crying because LSU had the audacity to even consider moving on from Les Miles. frick em.

It's cool when they do it, it's a problem when we do it...FAWK'EM

The media doesn't necessarily "hate LSU". It's just that (a) Kiffin willfully seeks attention and (b) they operate in a world of perpetual cognitive dissonance simply for the sake of creating the attention required for their jobs and profession to continue to exist.
Kiffin is not the only coach of a CFP bound team to accept a job with a new team BEFORE the start of the CFP. However, he's the only one who didn't coach his (now former) team in the CFP. Yet, the media willfully ignores, or at least glosses over, that was the decision of Ole Miss...not Kiffin or LSU. They also gloss over the fact that despite the OM offensive coaches CHOOSING to go with Kiffin to LSU, LSU and Kiffin have allow guys who are now LSU employees to continue coaching for a conference rival. LSU doesn't owe Ole Miss anything. Yet, they are making concessions to allow OM a chance to win a championship.
You can hate that a coach is forced to make a job decision before the season ends. But that is a byproduct of the calendar...not poor character of the coach. However, in the end the underlying reason for the media "anger" is because LSU (due to their success over the last 25 years) is perceived as a "bully" relative to schools like Ole Miss and Washington. It's ok for schools like Florida and UCLA to take Tulane's and JMU's coaches before the playoffs. Yet, mean old LSU shouldn't take little Ole Miss's coach away. Cheering for the underdog is always a more likable story. So the media ignores facts and their hypocrisy to maintain a "better story"

sad thing is JMU lost those 13 dudes to Indiana but reloaded and bounced back just fine with new coach and players and were in the playoffs 2 seasons later while we still weren't close.
