I can’t think of situation where the starting QB had more pressure than what Nuss or abyone not named Underwood would feel.

Perhaps Marcus Randall in 2004?

If LSU is paying 10 million or anything close to that anything less than a National Championship and Heisman is a failure. Good luck kid.

Bryce and the coaches are not going to come out and say that publicly, but if you’re the #1 player in the country, you sort of expect those things from yourself. Bryce is an alpha in every sense of the word and you can see it in the way he plays.

Are you referring to just LSU or are you including other schools?

If you saw his commitment video and the interview with him along with his parents, I'm not worried.

If the are paying him 10 Million, he won't need luck or care what your expectations are.

He is the #1 the day he steps on campus. End of the debate.

He should think long-term.

Michigan runs a Les Miles offense and choosing them could hurt him 3 years later in the draft.

If underwood makes it to campus, have to think Nuss is trying the NFL hoping to get drafted on arm talent or transferring.

You don’t pay a kid that much money to sit on the bench.

I gave a list of true freshman in the SEC who have had success a while back. Two in recent memory off the top of my head are Jalen Hurts and Jake Fromm. Underwood is a much better passer than Hurts was coming out and he's much better runner than Fromm was coming out. While that technically doesn't mean much when the bullets are flying, LSU will have insane talent around him, even better than Hurts had IMO. Hurts finished with well over 3700 yards and 36 TDs in 15 games for Bama. While he threw for only around 180 a game, he ran for 950 in 15 games. Bama was averaging 245 rush yards a game. Think of read option with speed guys like Durham, Jackson and Berry. Think of RPO quick shots with guys like Jelani Watkins, Anderson back, Parker back, and Phillip Wright. They want to run WR screens, and we'll have the speedy guys on deck to do that next year. Same with the RB screens.

I don't think people understand just how dangerous the playbook can get here.

Maybe not in reality but in perception to LSU fans, absolutely. To me it's not even about the $, it's about the unrealistic expectations we've placed on him. The season Jayden Daniels had last season is the bar for Underwood. Hard to imagine him ever having a better season than that. We won nothing of substance. With the expectations placed on him by us, it's hard to imagine anything less than a title under his leadership being considered a success by us. So be better than Jayden Daniels and bring a title. Good luck with that.

I can tell you this, Kelly and Sloan are putting their jobs on the line with him. He fails, they fail and all will be gone. That's where the money comes in. Would be the greatest waste of resources in LSU football history. Imagine $100+ million worth of resources being placed at your feet as an 18 year old. Now that's expectations.

Bryce Underwood seems like that guy attitude wise, he probably invites the pressure.
