Aren’t kids flipping here? Are we that behind in NIL? Are we not an attractive school? I mean as far as recruiting, I thought there was nothing better than Frank, Corey and Austin?

This season has been frustrating all the way around.

We don’t have the NIL because we are a poor state. People can thrash and say that’s wrong but it’s not. It’s just people blindly defending their home state with P&G glasses. In the NIL era it will be tough for LSU to compete.

I guess technically we flipped Philips. Then he flipped back.

LSU boosters aren’t willing to pony up while other school’s boosters will. Pretty simple

We’re only mistresses to big time targets especially these last couple of years. They scare their wives and threaten to leave with the mistress only to get their wives to act right and give them what they want right before it’s too late

That’s not it at all. We have a finite amount of money as does just about every school in the country outside of maybe 5-7. We can’t spend money we don’t have. Our best hope is that collectives go away next year and the revenue sharing model creates more balance financially in recruiting.

We have less millionaires and billionaires than most states.

Short of putting a “tax” or fee on the season ticket holders for NIL we are facing hesitancy from donors year over year.

It’s terrifying that a billionaire from Silicon Valley or god forbid a Saudi prince comes in and gives a billion to a collective. You might actually see one program never lose.

The system is fricked up beyond recognition.

That's partly true; however, LSU has a massive fanbase that is passionate, and they've done a poor job tapping into that. LSU has to get more fans to kick in $50-100 rather than counting on mega-donors to save the day.

If they can get that piece right, LSU will be a force in NIL. No, they won't win last-minute buys like Phillips from Texas, but they can still assemble championship-quality rosters. Also, I don't think Phillips was purely NIL. I think he wanted to go to Texas all along. Corey Raymond selling him on being CB1 made it interesting.

LSU will sign an OL tomorrow from two schools whose fans will say LSU bought away.

Collectives may go away but big time donors can still go in and offer NIL packages.

It quite literally is wrong. It would be relevant if the only LSU alumni were in Louisiana. There’s plenty money in this state and among LSU alumni, either we aren’t coordinating it correctly or there’s an unwillingness to spend it.

Larry Ellison (who just purchased Bryce underwood for Michigan) lives in Florida.

Larry Ellison went to Illinois.

You don’t know what the frick you are talking about.

LSU doesn’t have the money to compete with Texas.

Which is my point. The location of where he lives has nothing to do with why a Michigan and underwood has his money.

LSU has a small number of boosters to raise funds from compared to USC, Texas, A&M, Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, Miami, & Michigan.

That’s literally my point dumbass. Maybe you should learn to read. He went to Illinois, lives in Florida, but is buying recruits for Michigan.

That has nothing to do with the economics of the state of Michigan as George was implying.

you need to show the results to get NIL. Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State and Oregon all are showing results on the field and thus getting support.

While Kelly is just talking the talk and not walking it. No one wants to support that kind of car salesman attitude.

Lol frick that

Why should fans be forced to further foot the bill when the school is the one collecting all the profits?

frick that noise…..LSU could go winless for all I care in the grand scheme of things before I pay for someone else’s employees and get no direct monetary benefit.

We're about to test that theory. That's exactly what happened with Underwood. I guess we'll see how long Ellison decides he actually likes his current wife, but for now he's going to straight up drop bags to steal several recruits.
