This class is still great but with those two guys it would make me feel better with more hometown boys.

Lee was the lowest rated of all of our Dline commits and Burns was going to be buried on the depth chart according to our coaches. They were both told we needed to wait until February to see how class would shake out and both declined. No ones fault here as all parties did what was best for them.

What if the coaches processed players that they didn’t think would contribute during their time at LSU? Since it’s a hard 25 unless you undersigned perhaps we will take who we think can play. Why sign 25 just to do it knowing full well you can oversign the next year.

Then why accept a commitment in the first place?

Maybe they think these players wouldn’t contribute during their time at LSU. I mean they aren’t on the depth chart. Jakori savage, travez Moore, Donavaughn Campbell, Jamal pettigrew, and tk mclendon are not providing depth and their time here is just about over. Maybe you save those scholarships

Burns was a pass interference waiting to happen. Have you actually watched game film on him?

They both committed prior to their senior years. With an additional season of film, they were downgraded.

Both ended up at good schools. Not sure why so much gnashing of teeth over this. Neither will likely be big contributors.

Why do you want players the coaches didn’t want?

Are you some kind of film study savant?

They were downgraded yet two top 10 national programs took them within a matter of days.

There is gnashing of teeth over this bc LSU actively got worse in their overall ranking between October and now, in the midst of an amazing season. This is the best year we’ve had since at least 2011 yet we are still looking to fill spots and will either leave open spots or will sign guys who are worse than the players we told to look around.

Our 2011 and 2012 classes were both ranked significantly lower than this class will be ranked. Great example, genius

They didn't take them. That's why they went elsewhere.

Everyone is looking at this completely wrong. They went to other programs because numbers worked in their favor at UF and UGA. Recruiting is all a numbers game paired with depth you currently have at a position. Hindsight is 20/20 in this case because there was a real possibility of us signing Burch, Evans, Burton, and Jarrett leaving us at 23. There’s still a few other guys in the mix (Mckinely and Cam Jackson, SVP, RB’s) that would require us to have room. The coaches are trying to take the best 25, not the first 25. They may even elect to keep a spot open for a transfer.
