re: I don't think it's a big deal if we don't get Citizen. Check out this kid's film.

The list of big schools that are interested doesn't include any from Texas. The in-state recruiters who have had a closer look for the last three years know that private-school competition for what it is. It's not like Louisiana, folks. Pursuing this RB instead of Citizen would be the height of foolishness.
Nope. They say the kid wasn't like this last year. Said a Mizzu coach came and talked to him and offered him because he couldn't believe others didn't. After that he he started dominating. You don't have an offer list like that from a kid who isn't good.

Pat Mahomes got offered by Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, and Rice. His senior year in high school he threw for 4600 yards 50 TD 6 int and ran for 940 yards and 15 TDs.

All it shows you is that not everybody knows what they are looking at when evaluating talent, and especially if the kid is from their own state.

It’s just not big boy Texas high school football that he’s playing that’s all I’m trying to say.

There's film of him as a sophomore vs. public school competition. Freshman year as well. He's legit.

Looking at both guys tapes I saw a lot more nice cuts from Paul than Citizen.

You’re not wrong about Citizen being built differently though. Hence why I would like him in this class as a LB.

Idk if it was bad tackling or he has barry sanders skills.

He looks like a very good back, and they look like children. There were some 145 pound guys trying to tackle him.

I was thinking the same comparison. Guice is still the best high school highlight film I’ve seen from a running back. the talent was just so obvious to see

I respect your opinion but I think Citizen is a very important recruit. I know Kelly is sending in heavy artillery to try and land him. I think he would do well at LSU.

Citizen is built different

Citizen
6'0 217
11.33 100m
Scouting report: At his best as a linear slasher or in one-cut situations.

Paul
5'11 220
11.73 100m
Scouting report: One-cut runner

Citizen has proven ability vs better competition, but they aren't that different in style and build. Paul was utilized a lot more in the pass game which is a plus. I agree that it would help to see Paul's ability to work his way through traffic and break tackles.

Ultimately I have faith that this new staff will make sound decisions on recruits so we'll see how this shakes out.
