Clearly not since you replied to my comment with a completely unrelated question.

Collins was a joke of a backup option who will never see the field.

And yet you've been ranting for days against anyone who advocates bringing in a potentially starting caliber QB compete with Nuss and possibly be the backup next year.

Nope, been arguing with those calling for a guy with limited eligibility left to replace him. Or arguing such a guy could come in without guarantees which is ridiculous. Backup options are fine, but the concern there is pushing out Underwood but I think we now know that's what BK is pursuing with MJ Morris.

It was a joke because you said Nuss' feelings which I've only heard Lester Pearl clutcher say.

Hunt Palmer?

Im a recent fan of his. He may be the best of the bunch.

Any one know the singer or band of that Louisiana song on Hunt's show?

Dante Moore would be the perfect fit imo

Anyone who thinks Dante Moore is going anywhere without a guaranteed starting job is delusional. He wasn't nearly good enough this past year to justify promising him the job over nuss, so he aint gonna be an option for us.

Moore would be a great option to transfer in a compete with Nuss. Best portal option so far.

69-130
53.1%
1,139
8.8 Avg
9 TD, 4 INT

Even if these were actually Moore's numbers, he still probably wouldn't be an option. In any event, they're not his numbers. Here are his numbers:

114/213

53.5% comp

1610yds

7.6 yds/att

11TD, 9INT

We're not taking him, because he's not going somewhere that doesn't promise him a starting job, and he wasn't nearly good enough to promise the job over nuss sight-unseen.

It's insane to me that people don't realize that we can't just take any QB who *might* be able to beat nuss. Nuss is gone if we take a guy who's anything other than a clear backup, so we're only taking someone if we're extremely confident that they're better than nuss. And it's unlikely we find that type of guy, because if we didn't really like Nuss we wouldn't have fought to keep him last offseason (when he had plenty of very good options that would've paid well and given him a starting spot on a strong roster).

yep Dante More would be good... You dont want to piss off Nuss and moore would be ok with backing up for a year in the right spot..

the problem is underwood would prob look elsewhere

I'm hearing the QB from NC STATE has entered the portal and has been contacted by LSU.

Ugh Shea & Hunt making 100mill$ opinions or decisions about the LSU Football program is NO different than anyone in this forum about any subject involving LSU. They are Journalists covering recruiting at a Paid Subscription Company. Their analysis or opinions are Just That their opinion.

Indeed it is just their opinion. Neither claimed insider information. They are however far more tuned in and knowledgeable than most here. Especially those whose opinion is just "I don't like Nuss so I hope he gets replaced." or "I want a transfer dual threat because they're guaranteed to be a heisman winner."

You are assuming Lane Kiffin stands pat and doesn't recruit or go to the portal for a perceived better QB. And Lane Kiffin would not hesitate to sign a top 10 high school QB or proven portal QB.

This is why it was stupid for Howard to leave. Right now, he and Nuss would each have two years in Denbrock's system in an open competition for the starting job. At best, Howard is sitting another year at Ole Miss. And if Howard thought he couldnt beat out Nuss, why would he think he was good enough to beat out the Ole Miss guy(s) ahead of him at the time of transfer or the guy that Kiffin is sure to bring in to compete with him?

Ever think Nuss is better than those guys? Just a thought.

Who knows? I certainly hope he is. My point is Howard left a given situation for what looks to be a worse situation than the one he left. He knew by staying here, he would sit in 2023 and have a chance to battle Nuss for QB1 in 2024. By leaving for Ole Miss he knew he would have to sit behind Dart in 2023 and possibly 2024. And that looks to now be the case. That extra year also throws in a lot more unknowns.

And who knows the exact reason he left LSU?? Maybe it was Kelly, Denbrock's system, or a myriad of reasons? I do doubt when he left he thought he would be sitting for two years before even getting to compete for QB1 and he likely wishes he had left for a better situation than Ole Miss or perhaps even stayed put.
