How did we land West and Whit Weeks?

Both from right outside of Athens, GA. Dad went to UGA. Happy they are tigers but seems crazy they didn't end up at Georgia.

Since we got West out of the portal from Virginia, I'm guessing he wasn't really on Georgia's radar. Then Whit came here to play with big brother.

Believe that West was doing ok at Virginia when they took him from the portal. The staff know that he had a younger brother that was supposed to be a real player.
Position of need for LSU and it couldn't hurt taking him for the borderline 5* brother.

I'm guessing west was'nt as much of a priority coming out of the transfer portal for UGA as he was for us and it seems like his little bro really wanted to play with him. Also UGA has been killing it stacking really high rated guys at that position the last several cycles, there's a good chance neither of them were even a take on their board.

I think director of player development Jordan Arcement was at Virgina when West was there. Probably the connection to get him to the boot and then his brother followed

That is kind of what I remember. Seem I recall a few folks saying at the time that the player they wanted most was his younger brother (Whit) and West was a good player at a position they were light on and an inroad to his younger brother.

Whit said when West was coming out he was all about SC until he visited LSU and he was wowed. That in part is how we got them.
