The shifting of the "tide" over the next few years is going to be epic. The "ring" ship has sailed, and it will be fun to watch the loyal kids beat Bama over the next few years, while the ones that tried to jump on a bandwagon that reached its peak in 2012 fails
You are smoking crack. I am not saying they will win 3 of the last 4 NC like they just did. But if they keep signing the top recruiting class in the nation like they have 4 of the past 5 years. They will continue to win and win big. Just like LSU, they don't rebuild they reload, and having the #1 recruiting class in the nation year after year certainly helps the reloading process.
You couple that with the fact that they have their homer brethren scheduling the cup cakes for them in the SEC East - that is not a coincidence - it makes it that much easier for them.

I said in the other thread that GWIII must be counting on USC meeting Bama in a bowl game.

if CR went to bama because he bought into bama acting like they are OLU then he is buying into foolishness.
Even without CCC LSU's OL do great in the NFL and he will have pleny of time to watch the improved offence under CCC before he signs the LOI

Freaking out right genius not to offer Sims!!!
""We're working hard," Sims said. "We have to get the Big Three out of Monroe to go to Bama. We're working real hard on Hootie."
While Sims was optimistic about luring Jones, Robinson was more definitive.
"We're gonna get Hootie," Robinson said. "That's a deal that's done. We're gonna get Hootie, man. That's what we're working towards."
Well as they say, this ain't over til it's over!!!

yes, we should not recruit based on coaches evaluations but should let 17 year olds dictate who we should offer if that 17 year old is a top ranked recruit. Nothinng could go wrong with that approach

Words do not express my utter disdain for Nick Saban and Alabama.

Yeah, offer a mediocre to OK WR so we can land just one guy. All the while, if Sims takes a spot, you lose the opportunity to land Quinn, Noil, and Dupree.
You have been on a rampage for a few days now. You def. need a break.

Whatever !
Id love to have Hootie, but Cornerbacks flock to LSU, no sweat.
I am glad we did not mortage our future on a WR guy who could now even speak well enough to be understood on National TV.

I don't want a kid that's scared to come to camp and earn an offer
Even if it means losing CR
He's better off going to Bama and kudos to Les

I admit to know very little about Sims, but, how does he stack up compared to Kevin Spears (very similar body type)?

I'm close to this one and I know for a fact that we are trailing Bama for his signature. He's more open to possibilities, but he loves Bama and how hard they have recruited him. I knew CR was gone despite alot of LSU people working on him, but im hoping we can turn Hootie around. Peolple that say he is all LSU are wrong. FWIW

cool, thanks. Glad to know that you are the true insider and all the others that say they are close to Hootie saying he's likely to be at LSU don't have the real scoop.

No you are correct we should not let 17 yrs old dictate our approach in recruiting. But there are exceptions to everything and if both CRob and Hootie commit to Bama and all it would have taken turn the tables and given us the upper hand was to offer Sims, that is a trade worth making. First it is not like Sims is not a talented WR, he is the 14th ranked recruit in the state. He is 6'4, 210lbs can you imagine that frame under Moffitt and LSU. With that frame ya think he could help in the red-zone, I mean our red-zone offense looked like sh*t this past weekend.
Also college football unfortunately is business now and the last thing you want to do is give your top competitor a foothold in your territory. So let's say Sims & CRob do get Hootie to go with them, what do you think that does to the Monroe area for the next 3 years with recruiting when the 3 of them are back home recruiting for Bama??
No that is a simple choice, you don't let recruits dictate how you handle your business. But sometimes you have to roll with the flow and sometimes certain situations will dictate how you handle your business that is out of the norm from the way you normally do business. Business 101 be adaptable, to be successful.
