That makes 29. I remember people saying they had an extra spot or two but they had FOUR?!

Seriously, can someone explain how they are able to do things that no other school can year after year?

I am looking for a real answer, not "They are Bama".

Simple answer is Bama doesn’t give a frick about rules. They do what they want.

No, what it comes down to is Bama knows the rules better than everyone else.

O needs to get his shite together and start figuring out how he can sign more than 25

If they can do it then so can we

Just like austin ausberry would be the perfect situation to bend the rules.

Well there’s your answer about whether the sec will allow conference transfers immediate eligibility.

Exactly.

I think several of the players we *think* signed scholarship papers each year are really guys they've convinced to walk on. Paul Tyson and Will Reichard are two examples of guys who I think did this. Possibly Tua’s little brother as well. This isn't really something anyone else but Saban (with that REC payment system) is able to do.

People can't just blindly accept that the number of incoming recruits reported by 247 is actually the number of guys who signed an nli.

Meanwhile, we're giving guys like Aaron Moffitt a spot and using every spot every single year, even if it means filling spaces with projects and mediocre transfers.

It’s easy to convince prospects to walk on when someone is paying them in secret.

exactly, they’re not paying the blue chip guys, they’re paying tuition for the bottom barrel guys and clearing up spots for the blue chips. (Just a theory)

You think nobody's trying to pay any lsu recruits "in secret"?

I don't think Alabama's paying guys like Paul Tyson and Will Reichard, do you? They're also not giving scholarships to transfers like Jonathan Giles, Terrance Alexander and Darren Evans. They're also not giving scholarships on signing day to guys like Desmond Little.

Look, I'm not dumb. I know some of what they're doing is shady, but I'm not naive enough to think LSU isn't going their fair share of shady shite too. But most of what they're doing is just being smarter about spots and they've built a dynasty that highly recruited (mostly instate) guys are willing to walk on for.

For the most part, I think Orgeron is doing a great job with recruiting, but there's always room for improvement and his biggest weakness is managing the numbers and being judicious about who gets scholarships. Hopefully Austin Thomas and Mason Smith will help improve this. I'm still not entirely sure Orgeron knows he doesn't have to use all 25 spots every year.

Yea the Darren Evans scholarship was just ridiculous lol. Passed on guys like Donovan Kaufman and Major Burns as in state kids just to later sign a Nichols transfer DB that can’t compete at this level. Should’ve atleast held the spot over for this year.

Obviously, I realize that LSU does some cheating too. My issue as a fan is that one program consistently gets away with all of it and never gets so much as questioned. The hilarious thing is that there are quite a few Bama fans who actually believe Bama doesn't don't cheat.
