It is kind of funny that the Ags paid all these dudes what were effectively signing bonuses and now they're leaving. These are the dark days that come with buying out coaching staffs. What a debacle.

Here's what was posted today from Evan Stewart about A&M NIL

If A&M is heralded as such a wealthy school, why are they having this issue?

How many guys do you think will end up at LSU?

I don't know but I'm pretty sure his cousin Burnt Toast played in the Tiger secondary this season.

Sliced bread was probably created by Saban and staff to justify Saban's comments that Fisher blew up about

And we are in the “ no rice” camp trying to trim them for the 4 quarter, ugh!

A&M made those big NIL deals contingent on them staying. They weren't stupid about that. They were stupid in buying Red Bull's F1 and putting a chimpanzee behind the wheel.

Semantics. A&M didn’t pay him directly, but their collective absolutely did. Nobody is dumb enough to believe they weren’t paid.

Now looks like they lost a 5 star WR who flipped to Auburn.

You hate to see it…

I’ve been saying this since NIL started. These kids are not getting all this money yall keep saying or believing they get. They just aren’t going to give these kids all that money for nothing. If their brand reaches that level of earnings then they’ll get their money and so will the people helping them. Their promise is potential money and nothing more.

Yall want to believe this crap because there’s no way A&M can get all these players without the money. Well it’s a promise of money not actual dollars. This crap is and will come out and at that point, it’s all over. Which is right about now.

This is straight up wrong--they are ABSOLUTELY getting actual real money to sign with a particular school, and you're naive if you think otherwise. Certain programs go about it differently than others, but the idea that a 5* isn't getting money to sign unless their brand is so big that they actually justify legitimate endorsements is laughably wrong.

They're not getting money "for nothing", they're getting money because of the relative likelihood that they turn into an impact power 5 football player. If you think guys have zero value until they actually prove it on saturdays then you haven't paid the slightest bit of attention to the past 30 years of recruiting. Lendale White got a bag of $150k cash way back in 2003 and you think that all of a sudden its NOT happening even though nowadays it can be done in such a way as to all but guarantee you don't get caught?

The bottom line is that rich boosters want their football team to win and are willing to spend to make that happen. Bringing in better recruiting classes helps, and if it didn't then this board wouldn't exist.

Did you think all along that schools were pouring obscene amounts of money into obscene locker room renovations every 5 years because the actual facilities themselves yielded a net positive return on investment? No fricking way. They were doing it to appeal to recruits.

You know what appeals to a recruiting class way more than a $20m locker room renovation? $20m in cash.

This money has always been here, it's just being routed in different directions than it was before.
