J Charles is a very good comp. When I first saw Harlem play live football as a 14-yr old FR., I immediately thought of Joe McKnight & Reggie Bush. Shifty, electric, patient waiting for the holes to open, and gone in a flash never being caught from behind. A complete mismatch vs. LB’s when filtering out the backfield on screens or wheel routes. I think he’s a better WR (slot) than RB. Watch his 7x7 highlights with Bryce Underwood throwing him passes. He is always the best player on the field.

You're dead set on making him a WR huh

To be fair, he looked like on (in a good way) in that 7 on 7. I just don't know that he's going to be as strong as Ja'marr.

This. Only significant difference is Reggie Bush muscle mass, watched a couple of games while he was at Helix. These guys look different when you see them in person.

Reggie and Harlem are very similar in size coming out of high school. Reggie got up to around 205 his last year of college. Harlem can do the same thing.

You can put this kid anywhere on the field. Like Reggie, he can be the ultimate x-factor. Only limited by the playcaller’s creativity. Not saying that Sloan isn’t creative. Just speaking to how talented this kid is. There’s nothing he can’t do.

Meh. He's the top guy in their class, 3rd(according to 247) in our state. Good back, bigger Helaire type. As with Clyde, he'll wait, his floor when able to show it will be very high and fans will appreciate him. We've got a potential Reggie Bush(college version is as good as it gets) and another kid with higher upside and speed. Both can be happy with how it worked out. Point is, don't think the size of the check factored much.

Harlem Berry is what we thought John Emery was going to be. Besides speed..the way Harlem cuts, stays compacted, feet low to the ground and balanced is what you look for in a defined back. Emery in comparison used elementary backyard football moves and marching band high step juke moves which didn't give him a ton of success here, and doesn't fit the college game

Yep - with how obviously outrageous bush's movement skills were, it's easy to mentally toss him into the "scat back" category. Although he was by no means a *big* RB, he wasn't skinny or even particularly small. At the combine (or his pro day, whichever it was) he put up 24 reps on the bench, which is 91st percentile for RBs.

While i love harlem berry and actually do think the comps being thrown out are pretty accurate, the muscularity/size component is definitely a place where he falls a bit short of Bush. He may well make that gap up in college--far crazier things have happened--but just visually he doesn't look to me like a guy who will ever be putting up 20+ bench reps.

That being said, I don't particularly care about how bulky he is or how much he can bench. All else constant, I'd rather him be more strong than less strong, but it's not his game (it wasn't reggie's, either) and it doesn't keep him from being an elite elite elite RB prospect - even more so in the modern game.

Lindsey who just moved ahead of Simon in 247 rankings

Simon is bigger and more polished right now but Lindsey has a higher ceiling and is faster

Oh, I didn’t realize we like 247 again

Simon is better. Don’t really care thar much about speed as much as natural running ability. And Simon wins more ways than 1

Simon had months to commit and wouldn’t pull the trigger. He can’t get pissy if they take a commit from someone as talented as Lindsey. Not sure what else the staff was supposed to do.
