I actually think we sign 4-5 DE’s and 3 OLB’s this class.
DE: Roy, Wright, Berry, Guillory, Lee or Jackson
OLB: Bryant, Williams and surprise

It doesn't hurt to cast a wide net. I also think it puts a little more pressure on the state prospects to not hold on to an LSU offer as a fall back while you entertain other schools. Do so and your spot may be gone by signing day.
It also takes a page out of the Bama book. Fill up early and if you have better options down the road you can do a little shuffling.

Nice Article from 247 About LSU's Current 2020 Commits
The LSU Tigers landed two more commitments for the 2020 class over the past few days, reeling in a verbal pledge from Texas four-star prospect Alec Bryant on Monday after landing California defensive tackle Jordan Berry on Saturday.
Bryant is one of the nation's top edge rusher prospects in the 2020 class, and he gives the LSU staff an 11th commitment in a class that could sign as many as 25 prospects. The Tigers now have commitments from three wide receiver prospects, two quarterbacks, three defensive linemen, an edge rusher, an offensive lineman and the nation's top cornerback.
The commitment from Bryant moved LSU up from the No. 2 recruiting class to the No. 1 recruiting class on the 247Sports Team Rankings, jumping Alabama, who also holds 11 early commitments.
Here's a breakdown on each commitment so far, plus there rankings and where things stand moving into the spring months of their junior years.
TJ FINLEY - QB
(Photo: 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 8 pro-style QB, No. 220 overall, No. 8 in Louisiana
247Sports: No. 9 pro-style QB, No. 278 overall, No. 14 in Louisiana
This is a bit of uncharted territory for the Tigers. LSU typically has found themselves chasing a quarterback in the offseason leading up to their senior seasons, as was the case in the 2018 cycle, all the way through National Signing Day - where they came up empty. The Tigers rebounded and landed Joe Burrow as a graduate transfer, then signed four-star Peter Parrish in the 2019 class. In between those additions, the Tigers built on the 2020 class by adding Louisiana's top quarterback prospect and a four-star on the 247Sports Composite. Finley a big arm and great size, and having him on board allows them to build the pieces around their quarterback class.
MAX JOHNSON - QB
Max Johnson (Photo: Rusty Mansell, 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 5 pro-style QB, No. 81 overall, No. 10 in Georgia
247Sports: No. 5 pro-style QB, No. 146 overall, No. 16 in Georgia
LSU followed up Finley's commitment by landing a verbal pledge from Johnson in November, just after he wrapped up his junior year. A number of teams were in the mix for his signature, but Johnson said he felt comfortable with getting on board with LSU's class and the direction the program was headed. The Tigers then won a New Year's Six Bowl and got Johnson back to campus this past weekend for Junior Day, where he once again reaffirmed his commitment and added that he now plans to enroll early at LSU next January, giving him a head start on the rest of the 2020 class when it comes to balancing school and work with the team.

KAYSHON BOUTTE - WR
(Photo: Sonny Shipp, 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 14 WR, No. 69 overall, No. 1 in Louisiana
247Sports: No. 10 WR, No. 50 overall, No. 1 in Louisiana
Boutte jumped on board with LSU early in his recruitment process and has not looked back since. And he's a big one, checking in as the No. 1 overall prospect in Louisiana for next year's recruiting cycle. Boutte is a standout prospect at Westgate High who has proven that he can play both ways. That means LSU can use him as a wide receiver or a cornerback at the college level, though he joins the class as a current wideout. He's also proven to be dominant on the track and one of the best football-track combo athletes in the 2020 class. If Ed Orgeron wants to lock down Louisiana, landing players like Boutte is what must happen.
DARIN TURNER - WR
(Photo: 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 10 WR, No. 54 overall, No. 2 in Tennessee
247Sports: No. 13 WR, No. 55 overall, No. 4 in Tennessee
Turner was one of LSU's first commitments into the 2020 class when the Memphis native got on board with the Tigers back last March - choosing to play for LSU over a double-digit offer list at the time. He's already a Top 100 prospect and is inching closer to Top 50 status, and he's widely considered to be one of the best receiver prospects in the country. With the Tigers taking a two-wide receiver class in 2019 with the signings of Trey Palmer and Devonta Lee, expect them to stack up on receivers next cycle.
KRIS ABRAMS-DRAINE - WR
(Photo: @KD1ERA)
247Sports Composite: No. 55 WR, No. 293 overall, No. 13 in Alabama
247Sports: No. 37 WR, No. 189 overall, No. 7 in Alabama
Abrams-Draine is one of the best prospects in the country, and he gives LSU a commitment out of the state of Alabama. He committed to the Tigers back in March, and since then he's made multiple visits to campus, has checked out games in Tiger Stadium and has maintained that he's locked in with his verbal pledge. Like Boutte, Abrams-Draine can play either wide receiver or defensive back at the college level, so the Tigers are getting some versatility and wiggle room by adding the four-state athlete. Draine is ranked inside the Top 200 on 247Sports.
COURTLAND FORD - OT
(Photo: Billy Embody, 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 23 OT, No. 165 overall, No. 22 in Texas
247Sports: No. 30 OT, No. 218 overall, No. 28 in Texas
After visiting Baton Rouge in November, the four-star out of Texas decided to narrow his list down to five teams, which included the likes of LSU and Alabama. But it didn't take him long to go from double-digit offers to a top five to a finalist. On Nov. 7, Ford announced his commitment to LSU, becoming the first offensive lineman to commit to the Tigers for the 2020 class - and still the lone offensive lineman on board so far. Orgeron wants to beef up the trenches on the recruiting trail, and landing a Top 25 offensive tackle like Ford is what the Tigers want to do. Look for offensive line coach James Cregg to look to add a handful of tackles in the 2020 cycle.
JAQUELIN ROY - DT
(Photo: Billy Embody, 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 16 DT, No. 172 overall, No. 4 in Louisiana
247Sports: No. 17 DT, No. 226 overall, No. 9 in Louisiana
On the other side of the line, Orgeron already has a commitment in from one of the top defensive linemen in the country in Roy. He attends high school on LSU's campus, and the University High junior defensive tackle is already ranked as a four-star and has nabbed offers from some of the top schools in the country. In September, Roy said he was ready to shut down his recruitment process and lock in his spot with the Tigers. After Junior Day this past weekend, Roy said he wants to be one of the leaders in LSU's 2020 class. Like with Ford, having a piece like Roy in the boat early has been key. Expect LSU to take a large defensive line class in 2020.
CAMRON JACKSON - DT

247Sports Composite: No. 24 DT, No. 273 overall, No. 12 in Louisiana
247Sports: No. 20 DT, No. 250 overall, No. 12 in Louisiana
LSU signed Haynesville defensive lineman Joseph Evans in December as part of the 2019 class, and that same month, they landed a verbal commitment from Jackson, his high school teammate. Jackson is already 6-foot-5.5 and 271 pounds, and he has the ability to play on the defensive line or offensive line. He's committed to the Tigers as a defensive lineman, doing so over offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, Mississippi State and more.
JORDAN BERRY - DT
Jordan Berry
(Photo: @jordanberry40)
247Sports Composite: No. 33 DT, No. 384 overall, No. 38 in California
247Sports: No. 30 DT, No. 347 overall, No. 39 in California
The California native popped for the Tigers at Junior Day last weekend, becoming another name added in the trenches in a year where the staff is hoping to stock up on top prospects. At 16 years old, Berry already checks in at 6-foot-2 and 323 pounds, and he's ranked by 247Sports as a Top 30 defensive tackle - giving the Tigers three so far among the 11 commitments in the boat. Berry also had offers from Southern Cal, Georgia and more.
ALEC BRYANT - DE
(Photo: Brian Perroni, 247Sports)
247Sports Composite: No. 9 WDE, No. 157 overall, No. 21 in Texas
247Sports: No. 7 WDE, No. 78 overall, No. 11 in Texas
The most recent commitment into the class, which gave the Tigers the bump to the No. 1 spot, was Bryant. The Top 100 prospect on 247Sports made an unofficial visit to LSU on Monday and committed to the Tigers, choosing LSU over a double-digit offer list that also included a handful of predictions for Oklahoma on his 247Sports Crystal Ball. At 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Bryant will likely line up as a standup edge rusher for the Tigers, adding another talented outside linebacker prospect to Dave Aranda's 3-4 scheme.

Ricks is LSU's highest-ranked recruit in the 2020 class, and as the industry shuffles the rankings this month following their junior seasons, the Mater Dei standout will likely move up even further. Ricks is a shutdown cornerback who turned in some of the best junior film of anyone in the 2020 class. And he committed to LSU on Christmas Day, giving a huge spark to the class and allowing the Tigers a chance to sign the top cornerback in the country in back-to-back classes. Ricks has family ties to Louisiana that have helped the Tigers out, and that could also be a big advantage as they attempt to hold onto his commitment. Expect all the top schools in the country to continue to recruit the five-star.

Agreed. Winning like we did in 2018 and finishing #6 in the polls is a big plus. Put 11 wins or more in the books this coming season, and finish with a top-three recruiting class.

Given everybody we have coming back especially at QB, OL and DL we should have a really good year next year which I would think helps us to continue this momentum and give us a top 3 class
