Goodrich and Foster

For a while it has seemed that Goodrich is a lock and foster likely isn’t. However, with foster taking an official visit this weekend, it seems we are back in the mix. And a CB just went in for Goodrich to “foggy”. Is there a switch happening? Who would y’all prefer?

I think I'd rather have Goodrich, but the need to sign a QB is compelling. I'd hate to lose Goodrich, but if we get Foster in the bargain, I suppose I would be okay with it as long as we land Surtain, Jr.

I think what's happening is LSU is doing everything it can to get a waiver for the kicker to not count against the 25.
That's my best educated guess.

That would be awesome if they could!

I thought they already denied the appeal? It would be great to have both though.

If Goodrich wants to commit this weekend you definitely take it.
Foster is most likely going to drag this out and not come to LSU.
You push for Surtain, Chase, and Goodrich.

Do not want foster. not as talented as Narcisse, not as polished as Brennan. It would take him 3 years to start anyway

I tend to agree. From what I've heard about Goodrich, I sure would hate to lose him at this point.

Why is everyone so obsessed with landing a QB? We have two very highly rated sophomores plus McMillan as insurance. That’s plenty. We can recruit two next year if need be. We don’t need 5 starter quality QB’s on the roster

Considerations:
1. Need at position: which position has greater need, and 'quality of need', i.e. is the need depth, or soon-to-be starter
A: DB by a slim margin; you always need to be getting the next QB
2. Quality by Position: Goodrich is tops at his position, Foster is good at his.
A: Goodrich
3. Confidence Level: when numbers are tight, which one is most likely to leave you hanging and an unfilled spot (or backup plan)
A: toss-up, too many moving pieces without first hand knowledge
In the end, take it from a negative risk analysis simplified POV based on a 2-yr recruiting cycle: Which one hurts the most next year if I pass.
Take Goodrich. If we we pass on Goodrich we may find ourselves with depth or even starter issues in the next two years where with Foster we run a lower risk of that and we run a pretty high likelyhood of getting a better QB (as judged) next year and not having Foster might help with that.

Take Goodrich, skip Foster, throw the house at Gunnell next year

Hey Based if I could've given you more than one upvote I would have.

He is a transfer, so how it the heck should he count.
If you have attrition from transfers and early entries into the draft, you will be on a continual downward slide from the 85 that will never be able to be fulfilled if the transfers count.
Just doesn't make any sense.

Foster is a QB and would likely not affect the team as much as Goodrich would. So I’ll take Goodrich. Goodrich is ATHLETIC,

People are obsessed with getting a qb because it has been the main issue with the football program for 10 years.
McMillan is graduating in the spring I think and likely transfers. There is also a good chance if Narcisse doesn’t win the job he also transfers. Then you are left with Brennan and some walkons.

Narcisse isn’t transferring as second string qb when the starter hasn’t proven shite yet.
And yeah not having an elite qb has held us back. Taking mediocre prospects who don’t have a home at the eleventh hour just to say we got a qb won’t fix that problem though.

And what's to stop Foster from transferring if he doesn't get the starting job?

I want Goodrich. Foster still visiting bama

Goodrich... Foster needs development and will wait to start if he ever does. Goodrich could make an impact first year.
