lots of chatter about SVP doing an official visit to Gainesville.
Dan Mullen is going after both SVP and Ashaad Clayton.

I'm not convinced he's gonna flip away from UGA. If he was going to, because LSU and UF never stopped recruiting him, he woulda already.
This 'pause' seems simply time for Kirby to find his new guy and give UGA an opportunity to re-convince him. I.e. no action favors UGA, not us.

If only there was an SEC recruiting board

Didn't both these guys sign letters of intent?

They thought they had Chase too

Does SVP just hate LSU that much that he's looking everywhere but LSU? Just curious, no harm intended

A lot of childish overreaction in this thread. This kid has never led LSU on and apparently has shown some interest. We should go after him until he signs because he's a difference maker. If you don't like it, quit reading the threads.

I agree. He may want out of state, but it is said all of the time, once it comes down to it, leaving home starts weighing heavy on some people. If for some reason he decided to stay close, you would have to think LSU is very attractive to him. Either way, I wish the kid good luck, I can't blame him if he wants to make a life for himself outside of this state for a few years. If he makes it into the league, the choice won't be his more than likely so he has to make this decision for himself.

Who's being childish in this thread?

The posts appear to have been removed from the thread. They were basically "I'm tired of this crap and this kid, time to move on."

Why do we care? Van Pran has never given LSU the time of day and LSU has never given Clayton the time of day. Van Pran is one of these kids that's never left the neighborhood and thinks the grass is greener once you leave cross the state line. I mean he's a brilliant kid that is going to get a great cultural experience in Gainsville.

The only recruiting pitch he knows how to sell to Louisiana kids is "look how LSU disrespected you."
There is literally no reason for a Louisiana kid that LSU wants to go anywhere else. There is nothing any other school can offer that they can't get at LSU.

This is just not true. Some kids want to experience something new. Some may want to major in a program not offered. Some may have family in another state.
It’s pretty short sided that we’re good with taking kids from other states but get pissed when a Louisiana kid decides to do the exact same thing.

No. It's true.

There are roughly 6 or 7 schools in the country with the competitive ceiling and exposure LSU has. More likely than not, a kid coming to LSU from another state cannot compete on the same level if they had stayed in state. That's not the case with LSU.

Kids leave the state every year, it is what it is. What pisses people off are the kids, usually highly rated, that string LSU along only to bail at the last minute and typically do something to show they never had the intention of staying home. LSU almost has an obligation to fight for those kids until the end, and it has been used against us.

It's only true if the decision on where he wants to attend is 100% about football. Maybe a kid has interests off the field and the football component is close enough.

For the kdis we're recruiting from the state, the decision may not be 100% about football, but it's roughly 99% about football.
