Thanks. Unbelievable. At this point, I just don’t know what it will take for a D-lineman from Louisiana to actually pick us over them. Maybe if Rashard has an All-American year and projects first round???

Not feeling all warm and fuzzy about them... Bama is doing anything and everything for Guillory and Roy.

Edit: Guillory is going back to Tuscaloosa for an OV this weekend. Not the greatest sign ever.

Well you can tell the powers at be that Satan is really going all out and the negative recruiting is big on this one, he wants both but full court press on Guillory as they have him rated higher.

I love Meatball to death. He is a hell of a dude and recruits his arse off... but let's get real forna second... Meatball isn't going toe to toe with the elite DL/HC in the country and winning many battles... It's time we bring in a DL coach with some heads on the wall to compliment what O brings as HC that knows elite DL, too.

I don’t understand the Bama love affair by Louisiana recruits at all. Especially d linemen. They are loaded at the position for years to come.

Recruits just want the ring and their 1 year of Fame. That's why I never get top recruits going to a team that's stacked at that position.. It makes no sense but it happens with so many recruits every year.

Team is stacked at a position, so instead of going to the team that needs that position, you go to the team that's stacked. Then when you don't play the first or second year due to the team being stacked, you want to transfer.

Example: Justin Fields.

Is it too late for meatball to "find better opportunities" before the season starts?

The entire blame isn’t on Meatball, y’all better go watch RL90 interview he did after he committed. I understand the love affair the fan base has for Aranda. But the full blame shouldn’t be on Meatball, when the scheme is being negatively used against his recruiting efforts. I agree he needs a solid recruiting class at his position but is he fighting an uphill battle by himself.

Our loss is their gain. If they get someone that can play for them, and we needed them, then they win twice on the same recruit.

If we cant get them, we continue to pose no threat, and they just continue to stack up the deepest DL in the SEC with guys willing to wait 3 years to play going through multiple position coaches more than likely.

That's why you hate for these kids to commit so damn early because they go back and forth with being committed to a school. The other schools are always messing with them about being committed to that school too as well as them also being fickle as hell about staying committed to that school. He won't be the first and won't be the last!

Elite guys just dont want to play for a guy who has no track record when we have little else to offer. We arent winning titles we can point to. We arent sending top picks to the NFL draft. We dont have a DL coach with a lot of power 5 coaching experience or NFL experience. Alabama has all of those. We dont even have 1. We could easily fix 1 of those though...and that could easily change another.

Why they didn't just get this over with and hire Bo Davis in April (show cause ended) is beyond me, they just let Meatball's contract auto-renew. Davis is a high level DL coach with big time college experience and NFL experience, and knows how to recruit...and would probably like nothing better than to get back at Bama any way possible if given the chance.

Why do you think we continue to get top DBs? We arent winning titles but we meet the criteria of sending NFL draft picks and having a great coach (Raymond).

don't look at our secondary then? Take your glasses off... we attract most of the best in our own secondary and we don't complain. People also want to go to a proven commodity. People know you are going to get some of the best DB coaching not only in college, but I'm sure across the NFL as well. Every game we play is televised, tons of exposure, you're right down the road from NFL scouts as well

Agreed. Well, as someone else said, if we could even go 1 for 2 at this point, I’d take that. Any word on Jalen Lee? His recruitment looks to be picking up.

It makes no sense to me whatsoever. What could they possibly be telling them (or giving them) to make them turn away from their home school on a dime?

It’s specifically the linemen that I have a problem with. I’m not pissed over Devonta Smith or Dylan Moses.

I can’t believe that having Meatball would be that big of a non-starter for kids.

But kids like Demouy Kennedy going to play for a DC with the same coaching experience as Meatball.

If only we could get a HC who was known SOLELY for his recruiting prowess along the DL.

I get that O has much more on his plate as HC as opposed to just being a position coach. But for all intents and purposes he is still just a position coach serving as HC. He's not the DC (Aranda has virtual full autonomy there) and he has nothing to do with the offense.

If LSU had a young, unproven coach at any other position, I could understand the "blame" being placed squarely on that position coach. But DL is another story. Did Orgeron simply just forget how to recruit the DL? I can't imagine he has just left it up to Meatball to make or break the ONE area of football Orgeron is highly qualified to coach.
