It’s pretty depressing that O isn’t willing or able to do any of those things.

they are going to bama cause name the last first rounder on the line for Lsu. shite even 2nd round

if he misses on both and doesn't get similar players this year people are going to turn.

is that why they took the gaye commit vol?
Also I are they taking joel Williams just to help with getting roy

Lets just tap the brakes a little with Roy and Guillory. I have a lot more faith in LSU to get these guys since Woodward was hired.

I can’t believe that having Meatball would be that big of a non-starter for kids.

It is.

it's not always about money.

it's about getting to the NFL as a 1st rounder man.
Alabama basically guarantees you to be drafted in the first 3 rounds as a defensive lineman.
until lsu starts doing that we will get some but saban will take most of what he wants

For the most part we have a similar advantage with DBs. I would think this year Bama would have less of an advantage on the dline considering they took a truckload of dline last cycle. Also, yes they crank out the high NFL draft picks on the dline but that is if you aren't processed.

Yes it’s partly about going to the nfl as a top draft pick, but let’s not kid ourselves here. Kids like Sopsher would not be at bama without a healthy compensation. The term business decision can’t be taken lightly.

I don’t understand the Bama love affair by Louisiana recruits at all. Especially d linemen. They are loaded at the position for years to come.

I’ll tell you exactly why: no one, and I do mean no one fawns over Nick Saban more than chicken little LSU fans. Pretty easy to recruit against when the local population loves that Judas more than their own team.

and you don't think he was offered healthy compensation to come here lol.

He's enjoying the recruiting process. I'm not worried

O facetimed Roy from the NFL draft live. This says he's definitely involved with these guys

I didnt say he had no contact recruiting, I'm saying it's not his specialty in just recruiting a few guys any more since hes not the DL coach. He's not selling himself coaching them directly, hes helping others to try and get these guys on board to play for Meatball. Hes not going after a specific group of guys to play directly for him, he has to help out everyone try and close on their players, he cant just devote all his time period to a few defensive linemen like he used to be able to. It's a big difference.

So much for all the momentum LSU had on the recruiting trail

It's only June! We'll melt at least twenty-two more times between now and early signing period.

That's why I never get top recruits going to a team that's stacked at that position.. It makes no sense but it happens with so many recruits every year.

I never hear LSU fans making this argument when a top tier DB commits to DBU.

You want to tell me we aren’t in a critical cycle for linemen?

2020 is probably gonna be a bit rough regardless but there better at least be some sign that there’s better days ahead. If he continues losing linemen to bama and you think that won’t be his undoing then I don’t need to waste my time with you.

That’s because anyone who knows where we’ve been lacking is in the 3 most important positions (QB, DL, OL) to win championships. Burrow has helped ease the QB struggles, but we are still behind in the trenches on both sides of the ball. DB’s grow on trees in LA, those other positions don’t.

You do realize that there are other linemen in the US other than those that go to Bama, right?

I’m hoping for Roy and Guillory but it’s better to lose them early so the staff can move on to other targets
rather than being stood up at the alter.
