re: Ford De-committed
Well that's on O... If there is a weak-link in the chain and he is NOT fixing it..

Les Miles did the same thing...

The writing will be on the wall..

Designate Meatball to some Made up position like they did with Ponamsky..

NOW is the time to fix that, We fixed Alleva...we need to fix this...

re: Ford De-committed
I think it has more to do with their ability to produce 1st rounders on the d-line. I don’t think we have had a 1st round d-lineman since Brockers. That’s closing in on 10 years without one. A long arse time. Bama 100% uses that to negative recruit against us. We need our d-line to have an outstanding year to pull these 2 guys.

But kids like Demouy Kennedy going to play for a DC with the same coaching experience as Meatball.

It's no secret Saban is heavy handed in the defense at Bama. They can hire a total clown and still have an elite defense, doesn't matter.

It makes no sense to me whatsoever. What could they possibly be telling them (or giving them) to make them turn away from their home school on a dime?

Titles, NFL draft picks and a coach with big time experience...easy

And Orgeron is heavily involved in the development of the defensive lineman. Nice Try, do with that being said, it seems like it’s a scheme thing.

Is he? Or is he trying to avoid some of the mistakes he made at Ole Miss having his hand in everything. I think he hired Pete Jenkins specifically so he could not worry about the DL for that year and bring meatball along. With him gone, no telling how much direct involvement he has, but it's clearly not enough to have influenced a lot of local big time DL kids recently. O isn't in the same position he was where he could be on the road recruiting mostly DLinemen in the offseason like he was before becoming coach, a lot more responsibilities now.

Why they didn't just get this over with and hire Bo Davis in April (show cause ended) is beyond me,

Chris Kiffin is the name I've heard. His show cause isn't up yet.

A definite upgrade from Meatball, but I'd throw way more money at getting Bo Davis over him, and we could have had him back in April. Davis would easily be the biggest direct threat to Bama's DL recruiting nearby us.

Davis Narc'd on Bama when all his shite went down. Not sure anyone trusts him now. Big no-no in the coaching world.

He’ll be a 3* when it’s all done

So basically he will be the caliber of lineman that LSU has been signing as of late?

*Rant Logic 101*

The Rant:
"We need O-lineman & D-lineman"
"We need 4 & 5-star lineman to compete with Bama"

The Rant: "Boom!...3-star O-lineman commits." *full of excitement*

...after 4-star lineman decommits.

The Rant:
"Well his stock was falling"
"No surprise, he was told to look around"
"He's not any good"
Etc...

LSU can’t NOT let this happen. If I’m O and even getting the feeling that this is happening I’m cutting my losses now and going out to get the best darn DL coach money could ever possibly buy and I’m doing it now.

The ONLY reason Saban would have for doing this is to keep them from our roster and set us back years because it will. There is just no way I’m putting up with that for another second. These guys are must gets for LSU. I mean must gets.

I don't know how anyone could look at the state of LSU's OL and the current OL recruiting and not be concerned. It is a huge issue.

So when?

When will this happen?

I expected this long ago, but it still needs to be addressed.

re: Ford De-committed
My buddy(high school coach) was at the ULM camp this past weekend, he basically said word for word what you said Vol....he said him and his high school staff weren’t real impressed with Meatball, and he could see why we’re losing the battle for elite lineman last minute to more established coaches.....big time recruits just don’t trust him to develop them to be high draft picks, simple as that

I want to believe you. I really do. But him going to tuscaloosa twice in a month doesn’t help.

re: Ford De-committed
I'm not even being inflammatory by suggesting this, but does O keep Meatball on staff because he's young and allows O to micromanage the positional coaching? If O hired an experienced and qualified DL coach, he likely wouldn't be able to get in at practices and work the DL, essentially giving up his one area of expertise. When you take ego and personal motivations into account, it kind of makes sense. I just find it hard to believe that a career DL coach and recruiter would entrust a coach of Meatball's level with both areas.
