meh I don't think its going to go that far. Possible but pretty unlikely for multiple reasons.

The issue with it will continue to be the mid to lower teams getting picked clean by the blue bloods. Similar to Addison leaving Pitt for USC

I'm pretty sure he played with the youth organization that used to be run by Steeples father. Nearly every football prospect from the metro area did.

ETA: We would need to get Zapp's on board for a new chip deal though.

Moss is overrated. He's a big athlete. He wasn't even the best RB in Louisiana last year. We need a RB who can come in day 1 and contribute immediately as a boss hopefully an elite one like Gibbs went to Bama. Moss ain't it.

I think people need to worry about players like Harold Perkins just getting insane offers from other teams every year.

It’s possible but not likely. We’d match most anything offered.

Has Perkins even signed a big NIL deal yet? If he hasn't, how the hell is that even possible? I'd have to think they're working something out for him otherwise that definitely should be cause for getting nervous if he has nothing by the end of the season.

BTW, all this shite is obvious NCAA tampering violations. Who cares about the NCAA lol!

It's like when NBA teams agree to terms with a restricted free agent on another team within seconds of the free agency period

Josh Pate has said, several times, on his pod cast that he's been talking to coaches around the country, coast to coast, & they are all saying the same thing, it's going to be "a wild circus" when the Dec. portal opens. A coach told him that some staffs are scared to death, as "some schools could lose up to 40 players currently on their roster". Even if that's an exaggeration, some schools will definitely take a serious hit.

This season will show transfer portal kids why LSU could be a top destination.

LSU didn't have a transfer kid ranked in the top 15 of the transfer rerankings, yet still the 4 star rated ones we got all made the biggest impacts.

Think if we can pull a beast runner from a lower tier school like Florida did with Montrell Johnson following Napier. Bama getting Gibbs from G Tech, last year Michigan St got Kenneth Walker from Wake Forest.

The system has to change.

I can't think of any other sport that has completely unfettered free agency from year to year.

There has to be guarantees tied to NIL or you have to sit a year etc etc

You cannot have free movement and money involved

So how does this work? Does it go through their old high school coach? How would teams know who is looking and who is the point of contact?

Players like Perkins are not going to be the ones to generally make moves. NIL is shite compared to future NFL dollars.

Sure, some elite players leave, but usually it's the players worried about playing time and/or scheme.

Perkins is playing on a great defense with a DC who knows how to use him. LSU needs to make sure he's taken care of in NIL, but minor differences won't make him jump.

On Whiskey and Wine, Moscona said Perkins recently signed with WME so he should start getting big time NIL stuff. Gordon stepping up is big but it's relative small potatoes.

Every sport has it now except pro sports. This isn’t pro sports. It’s also not money coming from the institution theses players are playing for.

How are you going to regulate this? How can the NCAA tell private businesses what they can and can’t do? That’s not capitalism.
