Anyone have anymore insight on him? Mid major player with a .370 BA and 13 HRs, I wonder if he is a solid defender at the hot corner.

Usually these lower conference Florida school guys hit the portal specifically to go to Florida State. I don’t know about this kid specifically, though. FSU just really seems to clean up on these guys.

That’s a good point I didn’t think about. He seems like an intriguing player. Trying to keep my eye out for guys announcing they’re entering. I know next Monday it’s going to be very busy with entries

.942 FLD% but it looks like he played part time there and DH’d about half the time. So I’m guessing he is not a plus defender.

I agree but it’s a little more of an uphill battle for us.

Because Louisiana produces so many fewer legit guys, the ones that pop but don’t get offered by LSU take it personally rather than seeing it as something to work towards. Especially if they end up at ULL, Tulane, or Tech. Or out of state at Southern Miss. but in state Southern Miss kids also aren’t likely to go to State or Ole Miss either.

It’s less prevalent with the Southland schools.

Trey Hawsey seems to be leaving LA Tech. He hit .335 and 15 HRs this year playing 1B.

He’s draft eligible, you would know better than me if that’s a risk for him.

I liked him out of high school. I liked that whole WM class of prospects that year though.

I feel like last year he would have been a 100% take. Because of Braun and the incoming freshmen, combined with the absolute bed shitting of Yorke, I’m less sure we will pursue.

Which sucks because that would mean he will end up at Arkansas or Ole Miss if he doesn’t go pro.

Like the Jason Bello kid from Dayton alot more.
LINK

Just looks like a better athlete and has some tools and range defensively what little I have admittedly hlseen and can find. Plus only a freshman.

When we gonna start seeing some proven good power 4 conference transfers? Those are the dudes LSU needs to contend in this conference. Guys that have seen and can hit SEC or ACC level pitching.

Most of those guys still have baseball to play this year.
