He’s from New Jersey. Might want to be closer to home.

Don’t underestimate how tight he and Fran Brown are too… they spent 4 years together under Matt Rhule between Temple and Baylor.

With how those 2 recruit and the amount of talent in Jersey / amount of draw that school has in Jersey, they would do very well.

Elko is concerned that Erob holds too much power in the locker room and there’s been a rift between the two. Elko is worried he won’t hold enough power & respect with Erob on staff.

So he’s basically Ogeron part two. I’m thankful for that championship, but this brings back shades of Miles with Ed scheming to take his job

Why can’t we just get a DC that is competent, just like Robinson.

There's no way of knowing this which is why he won't be our DC. If you're Kelly and you fire house because the defense was a disaster and needs a rebuild, you're not rolling the dice on a guy with no background as a DC to evaluate.

I'd like to have him on staff but at a minimum, I'll settle for him leaving for the impact it'll have on their recruiting class and roster retention.

Kelly already did this at Notre Dame. After Elko left (after only one year Jimbo came calling with huge money), he promoted Clark Lea to DC. Lea had been a LB coach for 10 years prior and was a LB coach for one year at ND before he was promoted. He took the 31st ranked scoring defense and finished 13th, 12th, and 14th in the country in scoring the next 3 years. He took the #46 ranked total defense and finished 30th, 18th, and 25th the next 3 years.

Unlike you guys, I wouldn't be opposed at getting Robinson as a first time DC. When Orgeron allowed Daronte Jones to run his defense (after what Lane Kiffin said to him), we improved greatly in the final games of the regular season.

We gave up 20, 16, 14, and 24 points the last 4 games.

Rush defense
We gave up 6 yards and 1 TD vs Bama
141 yards 3.53 ypc and 0 TDs vs Arkansas
118 yards 3.1 ypc and 0 TDs vs ULM
54 yards 1.2 ypc and 0 TDs vs TAMU

Even the pass defense improved averaged out compared two the prior 2 months.

If Robinson can bring over the DL talent, all we need is a decent DB coach and we'll be in business.

Part of our problem is…..I don’t think we can fire Lindsey. At least not now. And none of us really know, but he may deserve to be retained. He could be a great fit here. It’s a tough spot to be in. He just hasn’t been able to do the job due to illness. Some will be resolved soon, I hope. If he can’t get well enough soon, then maybe a settlement.

love seeing all these things happening around the CFB landscape as we twiddle our thumbs and do nothing to correct the horrific defensive staff we just dealt with all year.

Love that you think you have any idea what CBK is or isn’t doing.

If he wants to advance his career then it’s a no brainer for him.

It rarely works out when a school hires "the recruiter" as its head coach.

If that recruiter then hires "the recruiter" as his coordinators, it never works out.

If your head coach is going be be the recruiter and vibes guy, then he has to nail the DC/OC. Not sure ER is that guy.

I agree with you.

Plus,it easy to be a great recruiter with a open checkbook for NIL.

Since we are 2-3 generations into integration now, it's IMPOSSIBLE to recruit well to syracluse for football.

Prime example: Jim Brown was from Georgia. NO WAY IN HELL he goes to syracluse if the southern schools had allowed black players on their team back when he played. They had others back in the 60s that would have never gone there if the southern options were available to them.

Have you ever heard of The Elmira Express. A little town in upstate NY produced a running back Jim Brown even says was better than himself. Ernie Davis 1961 Heisman. Died of cancer.

Yes I have. He also played in an era when southern schools IDIOTICALLY would not allow black players on their roster.

NO WAY IN HELL Davis goes to syracluse either if he had better options.

At syracluse, it's impossible to recruit well enough to be a player on the national stage. This has been the case for decades.

Our head coach felt it was the first place for our CB coach to get a shot.

So not that surprising.

You simply transition him to another position. If he can’t perform his job due to health issues, then you can’t simply punt that position until he is good to go. It sucks but that is life and he is still getting paid.

Syracuse, N.Y. — During an hour-long Zoom call Thursday night with Syracuse football’s class of 2024 verbal commits, new Orange head coach Fran Brown teased who he plans on hiring as his coordinators. “He said the offensive coordinator is coming from a job in the NFL, and the defensive coordinator’s coming from the SEC,” Noah Rosahac, a three-star lineman from Pennsylvania, told syracuse.com by phone Friday.

Ya'll are underestimating this right here about ER. it's a no brainer to NOT bring him here as DC. Those kids like him sure, but they're following the money, don't kid yourself.
