I know it doesn't matter because we know he is good. But great to see him recognized.

I’ll be the first to say it:

Watching him this year (just some highlights and clips can’t say full games or anything), I really didn’t think we were missing out. Yes, desperately need DTs and you don’t want to lose your in state top guy. But I, and I think lots of people, sorta thought he was way way overrated. But he went to that UA bowl, against the best players in his class, and every day he stood out. With Bo Davis keeping him motivated, this kid is going to be a monster

Yeah

Sopsher vibes until the UA practices. Hopefully that wasn't just a one-off for him.

I agree but he also seems like a way better kid than Sopsher ever did. It’s way easier to teach a nice guy how to play aggressive than it is to ask a POS to get his shite together in college

Sopsher was lazy AF and never had to put forth more than minimal effort in high school. He was so much bigger and stronger than everyone he played that he could get away with it. Dom is just naturally very reserved and shy which shows sometimes in his play. Bo Davis can and will get the best out of him, which by all accounts, is pretty damn good.

Also now #18 in 247's final rankings.

eta: No 5th star for Green.

Remember a few weeks ago when this kid was “soft” and some of you were glad he was headed out of state?

As I addressed in my post…we just went off of his games. He wasn’t that dominate 5-star ripping HS OL’s to shreds. So he commits out of state and he didn’t play well, as LSU fans we said good riddance. But he went to UA, played with a chip on his shoulder he didn’t do during the season, committed to us…things change. I think he made the right choice for he and his family, and LSU fans will hate on people leaving but also worship them when they stay. I’m all in on DM

Cool a 5th star is something he can be proud of. I think he knows if he hangs with Bo Davis he'll be trained to be an NFL player. I hope he's ready to come in and play hard.

He wasn’t really overrated as much as he was underweight. He probably played the whole season at around 260 lbs. He will have to add 30-40 lbs to be able to play inside in college.

I was guilty of downplaying his ability. I saw 1 game, against LCA and gave dat too much credence to that 1 performance.

Admittedly, he got worked over all game by a shorter smaller center.

Since then he's had a good season and a dominant showing at the All American game and practices.

With Bo guiding him, with his elite physicality, he could be an All SEC first round draft kind of player.

I agree, he was getting some unwarranted heat from a lot of people. I was glad to see him dominate at UA week, the future is bright.

I did see where Preston Guy posted a couple hours ago that Green did receive his 5th star from On3

I think you could say that McKinley is raw, but has tons of potential. Luckily for him (and us) he’ll have the best DL coach in the country to learn from.

Composite. On3s ranking update is likely next week. 247 had their final full update today, rivals tomorrow so he's likely to fall slightly based on the fact rivals has 31 5* and he wasn't one. Depends how he and the players around him are ranked there.
Will depend on what on3 does with him in the end. Do think they are likely to drop him in the TE rankings. They love the Carter Nelson kid headed to Nebraska and have Odom(Bama) ranked ahead of him. Position rankings factor into the overall rankings more than you'd think. They randomly limit how many at certain positions will be in a certain range. 247s #1 TE is a completely different kid. We'll see. I have no clue when/if ESPN will update theirs. I don't pay them any mind.
