Does there need to be an NCAA investigation into what Leigh did?

Is it a recruiting violation if a kid signs, then continues to have contact with other coaches?

I mean he has a point. His lies could have led a team to potentially unknowingly commit one or more recruiting violations. Hell, it may have been he and Dabo’s plan to do that.

Fact is that once a player signs, that should be the end of it. They should be announced by the ncaa.

If he signed with LSU and acted the same way none of you would have a problem with it. Stop being hypocrites. Again stop placing blame on the kid when the adults set up all the rules and get all the money. Somewhere behind Leigh's actions is an adult pulling the strings.

I think it should if the rules are similar to player tampering in pro sports. I mean if he was already signed, I’d assume other coaches can’t actively recruit him w/o violating some rule according to the NCAA. If that is illegal, what would happen if LSU was penalized for illegal/improper contact? If there’s nothing wrong with recruiting a signed player then I have no problem. It was just shitty on his part.

Or was it opposite?

He signed with clemson a while back and lead lsu to believe he was unsigned and committed time and resources to him?

Supposedly him, Jardin Gilbert, and Korey Foreman all signed back in December. Foreman was the only one who came out and said he was doing so, which was how the other two should have handled it.

Does the NCAA need to start sniffing around some LSU recruits? How about no.

frick that. We don’t need to be doing that shite. It’s bad enough when schools get guys to hold spots somewhere else when it’s known they are flipping. But knowingly asking a kid to rack up secondary violations against other schools is a different level. It’s bush league horseshite and should come with automatic scholarship reductions for any school caught engaging in it.

If you think the NCAA isn’t watching for stuff like this, they actually changed the EE rules after Saban got Learherwood to flip and sucker us into secondary violations.

I would assume the form that was signed and submitted to the school was dated, no?

It wasn't Leatherwood who signed financial papers with LSU and then flipped to Bama. It was the Mississippi kid named Womack or something like that.

If any kid signs in December, all schools should be notified so that resources are not spent.

The problem is if he signed with a school and didn't inform the other schools, allowing them to continue to recruit him. I have to believe that would be an infraction on the recruiter's part, but not the schools pursuing him, since they had no way to know.

This whole "signing today but not announcing until later" needs to be stopped anyway. If you sign anything, the SEC gets a copy and it becomes public knowledge. Quit letting the kids run the show.

Didn't a TE/OL do something similar to LSU that got us a recruiting violation? He ended up going to Bama and transferring or something.
