Now he is someone that I think you could look at. LSU player, GA for Miles in 2011, 3 years at Grambling so you know he had to hit the recruiting trail and since then 3 year stint as Bears Assistant OL coach (2015-2017) and currently 3 years as Giants Assistant OL coach (2018 to 2020).

He has a resume that I think works in that he played the position, worked his way from GA, to position coach at D2 school and then moved to the NFL.

Why Mawae? Loves LSU? Who gives a shite. Do you think Saban loves Bama? Dabo loves Clemson? Hell no. This is a business. And the best way to suck at it is to favor home boys. Go hire the best. And the chances that the best oline coach is an LSU guy is about 200 to 1.

You say he’d be as good or better than Faulk, but you have no idea of that.

But If Mawae was LSU’s Oline coach; do you think he would’ve recruited Makaneole?

No! Mawae hates Polynesians.

There are threads pimping Mawae on 3 different boards.

I played O Line in high school. I’ll send in my resume.

And just about every current P5 O line coach has more than Mawae.

You’re basing all of this on a fantasy. You envision a world where Kevin Mawae would be a great coach at LSU that you made up. He doesn’t have the resume to be O line coach at LSU or any other P5 school for that matter YET. Let him cut his teeth at a smaller school first (what Faulk should have done).

ETA: you started another similar thread earlier. Should we look for more on this topic from you later? You’re obviously burning with passion for it.

My opinion of Kevin’s ability as a coach is after watching him use superb technique against some really good, big defensive linemen. As a Titan fan, as well as an LSU Tiger grad myself, I would watch him on EVERY play. Either live or paused and backed up. He was masterful influencing and then redirecting those monsters.

If he can impart those techniques, we would be good.

He was also the head of the players association, so he’s an alpha. I think he would be an impressive recruiter.

My 2 cents.

Well then hire his damn arse as a analyst! He a frickin hall of fame center and a hell of a guy. Like someone said above he was the president of the players association. A fricking blind man can see his value to LSU. Bring his arse home and let’s get some damn real Olineman in here. Sick of all this crap...the guy would be huge to this school!

What would it take? How about Mawae going out and getting an OL Coaching job and proving that he is good at coaching? You know, something that he has never done in his previous career.

Didn’t stop them from hiring Kevin Faulk

Then why isn’t he the OL coach at Arizona State?
Probably because Coach Christensen was there, who was a incredibly respected OL coach with HC experience. He just retired this past week. Also, what makes anyone think these "analysts" are not ON FIELD?
