You want to look at our corner depth chart and say that again?

Let’s be honest here y’all, these are for the most part young black kids that for the majority probably don’t come from the a middle class background. The music they listen to, the athletes they are influenced by, the things they see in other mediums all hammer home the idea that it’s all about the money. So likely, 90% of them and most of them at the top end, will only give a frick about the dollar bill at the end of the day.

I don't think you can blame media.

Imagine being a 17 year old and your living in a trailer in the middle of amite. Your food stamp poor and A man from Texas comes in and says "if you play for us we'll buy your momma a house today and give you a $500k in cash so she can retire"

If it's me- frick "state allegiance". Im buying my momma the house.

100% agree. I just hope we don't end up with a Notre dame roster trying to beat Alabama.

I've seen Notre Dame vs SEC schools and I wasn't a fan. This new Midwest recruiting strategy is a bold one.

ok so let's stop with this fence narrative then.

I can't remember a year tougher to grab the attention of the in state kid than this one.
LSU removed ITS ENTIRE FOOTBALL STAFF MINUS THE OL COACH! There are almost zero relationships with ANY of these 2023 recruits. Ed O was literally a transition with barely any shift in staff. When Les Miles got here, there was not a major overhaul. Not only that, this is the first major year NIL is coming into high school recruiting from the beginning of the cycle. There was a whole reason why Ewers left Texas in the first place to get the NIL money in Ohio.

I can not believe how ignorant some of you so called "recruiting junkies" are. Let this shite play out.

here's no team in CFB I despise anywhere remotely as much as Michigan. But to be fair to them they are way behind in the NIL game and - much to the disgust of most of their fans - seem to be doing very little for even their existing players, let alone potential recruits.

Yeah, I wouldn't put Michigan in that tier. They have the money to do it, but Harbaugh isn't the dude who is going to open Michigan's pocket books. It's similar to how Georgia could have done what they're doing now at any point during Richt's tenure, but it took hiring Kirby Smart to actually do it.

Plus Michigan boosters are very much so the hyper arrogant "anybody who doesn't want to be a Michigan man doesn't deserve to be one" type.

“Recruiting junkies” are worthless in the current era we’re in. It’s open up the checkbook or get left behind…right now we’re being left behind. Splurging for one or two top recruits per cycle isn’t going to get it done.

You're clinging to how old NCAA recruiting works. It's not like that anymore and nobody gives a shite about relationships right now. They don't care about winning either. Texas hasn't done dick in almost 15 years and were horrible last year yet look what they're doing. It's about life changing money straight out of high school. If relationships mattered at all LSU wouldn't be able to clean out the portal just a few months ago when BK first took helm at LSU's job.

Bidding Wars can materialize in a matter of minutes. Trying to time making like offers is folly. Bill-fold twice your presented offer for each player sought and then you’ve got sufficient funds to ante in to the NIL game.

I’m thinking we presently aren’t set up to even get entry into the room, let alone a seat at the table.

Get used to LSU and fans being happy with a top 25 recruiting class. Not going to be able to compete with the big money teams and the gap is going to keep getting wider.

If that's the case, I hope LSU de-emphasizes football.

No reason to spend the lions share of AD money on a sport that you'll no longer be a contender in.

I agree, we're never going to compete with the big dogs in the nil realm in football. All of our n i l efforts should be directed towards the one sport we've traditionally been good in, which is baseball. It would take way less money than football and we might actually be able to be competitive with the top NIL schools

At what point does Kelly take some blame? Never?

Top recruits do not want to play for him. You all like him because he reminds you of Saban. He is nowhere near the coach that Saban is & he’s even less likable. This is not ND. You don’t get to beat up on service schools & lose to USC or Michigan every year. You don’t have an easy 7 wins that keep the schools prestige at a certain level.

I am interested how these programs who are spending all this money maintain the team concept. I see the Culture problem we experienced the last two years, spread to some of these programs. These 5 stars pampered athletes are not going to help their team's culture. I get talent wins games, but I want motivated talent and these kids getting the big money may not be real motivated.

Not this good they aren’t. The fact that LSU has missed out on safeties the quality of Derek Williams and JaCoby Matthews in back to back classes is disturbing.

Anyone that thinks differently needs to get their head out of the sand

This is a bad look for Brianna

Kinda like Manning and Curtis. Oh wait they are privileged white boys so they don't have to worry about the money yet they still do. A lot of these kids grow up poor so you are f$%&ing right they worry about the money as they should.

Who did you want LSU to hire? Kelly hasn't even coached a game yet.

Not sure if you’re serious.

If so, you’re really reaching.

He’s probably the legitimate No. 1 prospect in Louisiana.
