Ausberrys father doesn’t want him at LSU

If true, he should be fired. He doesn’t have a low level position at LSU. He’s very high up in the athletic department. If he doesn’t care enough about this school and it’s athletic program, after they stood by him when they easily could have fired him over scandal, then he does not deserve to be in his current job.

All that matters are the results on the field. Kelly should only be judged by that.

That's two straight years missing out on the number one DB in Louisiana

LSU is 44th in recruiting. Bama is now getting high profile recruits with Tony mitchell. Ohio State and Texas are dominating. They're in the lead for Jordan Matthews. It's time for this staff to get to work.

Well, CBK hasn't coached a game at LSU yet.

Sort of hard to put blame there.

Lsu will not be a national powerhouse again until NIL folds.

Absolutely. His kids have the next 60 years of their lives to live anywhere on the planet. This is the one chance you have to help LSU for life.

Williams to Texas may be a good thing in this day and age of NIL As now LSU can find out how much NIL money Williams is going to get from Texas and then match it to get him to de-commit from Texas and then to commit to LSU, but the strategy should be not to do it too soon to avoid a bidding war.

Do you know who his dad is tied to politically?

if you think LSU will ever even think about firing him. Why do you think he's still there now even after that investigation?

Ok. LSU’s staff were all at various jobs in College Football and the NFL last year so they had zero relationships with the kids in Louisiana. However, they have contacts from around the country and we are seeing those kids visit LSU.

Look at the kids on that list. Now you knew that LSU has Walker Howard and that Manning and Holstein were neither coming to LSU. You also knew that Tackett Curtis was an Ohio State lean before Brian Kelly arrived in Baton Rouge.

The previous staff did not recruit this class because they were fired during the first half of the season. So somehow this staff is at fault?

Last, any list of the Top 10 players in Louisiana that doesn’t include Trey Holly is questionable.

2 of the top 10 may be as bad as any class leaving Louisiana in over 25 years. Maybe longer.

We can’t match what aTm, UT, Georgia, USC, OSU, or Michigan can throw at those guys

There's no team in CFB I despise anywhere remotely as much as Michigan. But to be fair to them they are way behind in the NIL game and - much to the disgust of most of their fans - seem to be doing very little for even their existing players, let alone potential recruits.

Ohio State is the one major mid-west school that is very active the NIL sphere for both recruiting targets and current players. Notre Dame has recently eventually started getting its act together for existing players, but as usual it is being extra cautious and not offering specific deals to recruits. It's relying on the new head coach's pure recruiting ability and that of his staff. Which has worked pretty well so far, but it's one thing to get commitments, it's another to have them actually sign in December after things get pretty mad in the NIL world in November/December.

Gray might be leaning ND but I still think it’s more 50/50

The sense from ND recruiting sites was that he was a very heavy ND lean in the early part of this year, then drifted away in the direction of LSU, but in the last month or so started being more heavily linked again with the Irish.

But obviously that is in the context of it being from the perspective of people who cover ND.

Either way, we'll know soon enough - he's announcing his commitment on 4th July.

Look, I don't think it's that big of a deal yet but a couple of things need to be said:

#1) Typically with a new coach you see a surge in recruiting. This is the case with Lincoln Riley at USC now. This is a disappointing start but it's still incredibly early.

#2) If LSU wants to compete for national titles it will always have to start with locking down its own borders. Bleeding players and hoping you can supplement with some kids from Nebraska and hope you land kids from Michigan and Washington is not a recipe for success. Especially with the ease of the transfer portal now. You need Louisiana kids to go to LSU if you want to win, it's not s secret.

Now do all the out of state kids we're in on!
This is a huge red flag to me. Much more so than the poor recruiting in June. If this staff doesn't prioritize our state then they'll fail.

I will say this- the lack of ability on the trail now makes it imperative that we win and win early. As long as we win everything else will take care of itself. With the lack of excellent recruiters you now have to win.

No it's not. LSU should absolutely prioritize Louisiana kids. Did y'all just show up? That's always been the way to win here
