I haven't seen people discussing Stingley here for a while. Have you all been keeping tabs on his HS season? He's tearing it up.

I hate to be hyperbolic, but the kid reminds me so much of Patrick Peterson. Just his size, speed, and the fluidity. He looks like an NFL DB on the high school field.

Pretty special talent, that like PP, would be a 5* wide receiver as well if he wanted.

And again like Patrick, seems to have a great head on his shoulders and a very strong work ethic.

His coach is going to miss him for sure.

Also, something I picked up from his film besides the obvious elite speed, size, fluidity, instincts, and balls kills.

His physicality. He loves to hit people and is a great tackler.

This kid is really, really special. We better enjoy him for 3 years. Going to be a lot of fun watching him return punts and kicks next year.

Yeah, I hope we can get this figured out early in his career here. We were deprived 2 years of seeing PP as a returner. (although he did have his cramping issues when pushing himself so much)

Once he got to the pros, he found out it was diabetes causing this.

He looks physically ready to play at the next level to me. I expect him to suit up and get snaps next year. If he can pick up the defense its on!

He looks physically ready to play on fricking Sundays

He will be a day 1 starter for us in some capacity and full time starter at CB by the 3rd/4th game if not earlier.

Should also be day 1 starter as returner. This kid is as elite as elite can be in every way possible.

It's almost not even fair watching arguably the #1 player in the country playing against that level of competition.

Thanks for update. I don’t follow the NFL. Sad to hear he had that, but at least now he knows and it’s treatable/controllable.

Is it possible Derek gets too big to play corner? Kid looks ripped as a high school student and you know hes gonna get a lot bigger once he hits a real deal strength and conditioning program. I'm scared he may end up like 225 by his sophomore year at LSU

Not a serious problem to have though. If he played at safety I'd love that. But if he still has the speed of a corner at 225 then why not play him at corner? Patrick Peterson was like 215 playing corner in the nfl before he lost all that weight.

If the coaching staff is concerned about him getting too big for cornerback than his personal strength & conditioning plan would not involve him gaining ten pounds.
