I see there's no "How are rankings changing when there's no games or camps!!!!!" in this thread.

Playing in Lane Kiffin or Mike Leach's spread offense + staying home would be pretty appealing...

Pure Air raid receivers do almost nothing in the NFL. I think Leach has had 2 accomplished receivers in the NFL, and neither were pro bowlers. I guess I can see Lane and the dirty Mississippi boosters bringing him to Ole Miss by bringing in the truckload, but that's about it.

ETA: Forgot about Wes Welker

State is not actively staying after Smith due to lack of communication . Their main WR Targets are Teddy Knox, Malik Nabors and Keon Coleman.

Y’all have him locked up

just looking at the past. chances are rally small he sticks with LSU

I would normally agree but changing the offense to a wide open passing game and getting back in the NC chase gets us over the hump with a lot of these kids. Oddly enough, BTR is as close to Jackson,MS as Oxford or Starkvegas...

Opportunity to play in a raucous TS over a quaint VH or DW Stadium seems like it would help a lot but it hasnt over the last several yrs.

Not true.
Starkville is about 1 hour 45 min from Jackson
Oxford 2:15
Baton Rouge is a solid 3 or longer depending on I-12 traffic from Hammond to BR

BR is 2.5. Go north, not on I-12.

Probably not worth a new thread but looks like Deon’s school, Provine, is canceling its fall season along with all Jackson public schools. He may transfer to a private school to play.

Saw that. Jackson Prep and JA were probably on the phone with him yesterday.

Not to nitpick but...what if you could play in an offense that broke every record in the books last yr. AND won a Natty that had 2 of the top 5 WR's in the nation?

...or a Mike Leach offense?

Leach has proven time and time again that his programs are damn good. He’s just never had a job in fertile recruiting grounds. He does now and that should worry a lot of people, IMO.

I’m by no means saying they’re going to be NC contenders every year, but once Leach has his claws into that program, they’re going to be a thorn in the side of everyone

Smith looks really good. He looks faster than Jefferson and runs better after the catch. I would rather have him over Brian Thomas but would take both if possible.

It must be the sooth sayer from Alabama. Maason Smith is no longer a 5 star on 247. And Forman is no longer number 1. The owner of these sites must stare at photo's of recruits and visualize where they may go and judge their position accordingly. All it seems though is if you are not Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia or Clemson you will not be eligible for any 5 stars.

Mize hasn't been relevant since before Katrina hit.

They can't get pass Lumberton and Wast Marion

Damn shame, when they were an A school they always had a shot at the State Championship. They moved up to AA and put them in the Same District as Taylorsville, say bye bye to State Championships.

That's not true.
2020 Alex Adams and Xavier Hill
2019 Radar Jones
2018 Cole Smith and Damien Lewis
2017 Miles Brennan and Saahdiq Charles
Now, for those four years, you list the ones who were committed and backed out.

I’d normally say hopefully JA gets him (for selfish reasons) but with Lance Pogue (former university of south panola head coach) being our new coach I’d wager there are still strong connections with ole miss

They had a population boom up there. A couple families decided to grow their work force.
