Alabama wide receiver Daylon Charlot is transferring, he announced on Twitter Wednesday.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Louisiana native played in five games as a freshman last season. He finished with two catches for nine yards.

Charlot was the ninth-best wide receiver and 90th-best overall prospect in last year's recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings

He might not be the last LA WR to leave Bama this year or next. Poor Raheem Falkins and Cam Sims are buried on the depth chart there and both are juniors.

Keep in mind Bama's top receivers are sophomores and juniors this year too.

Sims was due playing time before tearing his knee...

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at ULL or LA Tech. I haven't seen any indications of what he plans on doing though.

Simms will probably get some significant PT this year.

The Tiger staff seems to get the right receivers. That seems clear.

Alabama's Louisiana recruits sure are big hits are absolute misses.

For every Cam Rob, Tim W, and Lacy, I feel like there are a handful of Charlots and Hooties.

Well when you have a team as talented as Bama's(one of the most talented programs any coach in college football history has ever had)that tends to happen

Didn't he sign this year? Why he deciding its time to transfer already? Home sickness? Hill too steep? I was under the impression this dude was going to be a contributor for Bama. Oh well... I wish him well if this is true.

Nope. With Ridley, Stewart, and Howard back along with picking up transfer Deiter and Robert Foster coming back from injury, there are not enough passes to go around.

Foster was ahead of Sims last year and had 116 yards and 2 TDs in only 3 games of play. Sims only had 46 yards in 6 games of play. both have the same amount of time left in the program and Bama is likely to lose only Howard and transfer Deiter (2 seniors) after this year.

I don't know how good Sims is, but I always thought he was overrated (8th overall recruit 12th WR) and was only that highly ranked because he was an LA recruit that chose Bama. Charlot being the 9th ranked WR, top 90 overall recruit in 2015 seemed overrated to me as well.

Louisiana WRs seem to fair much better in other places than at Bama. Nebraska, Arkansas, TCU, all have good LA WRs and none were ranked even close to what the ones that went to Bama were.

Not surprised, he was conflicted picking Bama in the first place.

No reason to be butt hurt about every single player who leaves the state for Alabama. Unless they are an ultra douche (a la Landon Collins), I wish them all the best except for when they face LSU.

Daylon has done nothing to make me angry at him.
