Low key?

On paper, this could easily be our best ever class.

Best class ever? There is strong competition for that title , but I do think this class will definitely be seen as a great foundational class for the BK era of LSU.

No, but I do think it has a chance to be one of the better classes LSU has had in the last few years.

Recently LSU has had a pattern of high ranked classes that are mostly full of players who either didn't pan out or transfered. We all know Coach O was an excellent recruiter, but some of the evaluation weren't the best.

It feel like this class is different. And I really trust this staff with their evaluations. The question was if they could close on the top recruits, and so far they are showing out.

2001, 2003, and 2004 are the best classes ever.

You need 5-7 headliners and a loaded state and that just isn’t it this year

I agree with everything you said about the evaluations of this staff vs the last. The other aspect is meeting needs, we all know DB is the most immediate need and we look to have a top 3 class building there. In the trenches, on D line Cain has done "recruiter of the year" work if he can also land Hall. If we can get either Chester/Shanahan we will have the foundations of an O line we haven't seen at LSU, we could have Campbell/Heard at OT, Jones/Chester at G, & West at C

Yes it is possible. But we have had some incredibly amazing classes over the last 20 years. We would have to land pretty much all these guys Rogers, Toviano, Harbor, Shanahan, Chester, Heard, maybe throw in Javon Thomas, Dalton Brooks, or Peyton Bowen too.

On paper yes. There is a chance. We could have a third to fifth ranked class this year that still out points any class we have ever had I think. Take into consideration we can probably take 30 plus recruits. Nil deals. And what seems like a very well organized staff putting everything together. It will be on paper one of the best we have ever had for sure, need more dominos for it to be the best. To be clear that is just recruiting numbers on paper. They still have to play once they hit the field, there are some monster classes to compare to in that regard.

If we landed every kid we are CURRENTLY leading for, we would land in the 305-310 class point range. That would literally be LSUs best recruiting class from an overall point total since 247 sports has kept track, 299 is LSUs previous highest. 305-310 would put us as the #1 class in half the past decade, that is how good this class' potential is. We will likely be the #2-4 class rank in this cycle if we land all our targets we lead for.

It has a chance to be a top 5 all time class but we’d have to hit on everyone we’re in it for.

Another thing I've noticed is instead of guys kinda haphazardly committing out of the blue and everything being a surprise, there seems to be a lot more of a controlled process where everyone kinda seems to have a good idea of whats going on kinda like Sampson then Rickie today with Jackson coming Saturday, Heard & Prean very much expected to announce before the start of the season. Does that make sense to anyone or am I imagining things

Is it the best ever? No. Is it the best in a transition year? Easily.

No, I completely agree. And while nothing is set in stone, it appears that Kelly has gone after guys that are really buying in to their pitch. I’m not saying they’ll all stick (because no one can say that), but I haven’t seen any signs of what A&M is currently going through happening with our class.

Now that would be an elite o line.

West is going to suprise some people at center.

It seems like we’ve had more serious 4/5*’s trending our way than we’ve had in a long time and not in a “let’s wait til signing day and hope they pick us” kind of way.

Best of all, we seem to be choosing guys that aren’t as high risk as years past.
