Do yall think we really need 4 DT's in this class?

Davenport, Hick, Downs, and Sentimore....

DE seems to be a need and don't forget HICKS only has 2 years left.

Yeah, Hicks is like RJF I believe. He is fast for his size, so he could play DE. 4 DT is still fine IMO.

It means he wants to be a Tiger. It means he wants to play home games in Tiger Stadium the place that opponents fear playing in and thats the words out of St. Nicks mouth.

Wonder if Saban will now pull his offer as a preemptive strike for when he decommits. Then he can say that Bama lost interest before he decommited.

And after all the shite some you all talked about this kid and his grades I hope he stands LSU up.
Any kid who states that "LSU is his dream school", is not going to 'stand up' that school because of some retarded fans. If I ever got a shot to play any sport for the school I love, LSU, nothing except an asteroid destroying the earth would keep me from doing that. Some douchebag on the internet would be irrelevant to me.

Hicks and Sentimore can also play DE. We just lost 6 defensive linemen and lose at least 2 more after this year...we could use some.

OK. So all of you who said he wasn't worthy when he committed to Bama are now on board?? Just checking.

No, I think most people said LSU didn't need him.
LINKLSU already has the best DT class in the country(per rivals) and the coaches obviously had him rated lower than a lot of other guys who got offers much sooner. In other words, fans are not going to see him as an important pickup.

per BOL....

quote:

"Darrington is still committed to Alabama. He has not decommitted from Alabama. He is taking a visit to LSU this weekend," Robicheaux said Friday morning. "That is all that I know as of right now and that is all I feel comfortable saying."

in other words,

"I know he's going to LSU but I'm not telling you that. He'll commit and you guys can talk to him after he gets back from LSU."

It could mean Alexander didn't get his 6th year.

Sentimore may be the best defensive lineman in the state. If his grades were not a question at the beginning of the season, he'd be a tiger already. he's have an offer and he would have accepted it.

I'm hopeful he understands why the coaches have to be cautious. I know from a 17 or 18 year olds perspective it would seem as though saban showed more love. However, L.S.U., early in the recuiting season, doesn't have to take chances. There are plenty of talented kids that want to come without grade issues. In the future, you will see nick not take as many risk either.

If sentimore becomes a tiger, and he is able to be eligible, he will be as big of recruit, from a talent and need perspective, as any other recruit in this class. he, davenport, downs, and hicks are what makes championship teams.

You can never have to many d-linmen. When you can stop the run and pressure the qb, you make the other team have to take chances. When they take chances, you get turnovers. All great defenses start with a great d line. It makes linebackers, cb's, and safeties look that much better.

the key to a great recruiting class is to make sure the top tier athletes you sign actually make it to campus. They bring absolutely no value if they can't make the grade.

I'll be hoping/wishing for two things. First, he makes the grade.(regardless where he go's) 2nd, he becomes a tiger. I love watching great defensive line play.

I've wanted Sentimore all along, was disappointed when he committed to Bama, and felt that is was a big loss. I've never said one negative word about Sentimore and was secretly hoping that he'd get his grades together and come on over.

This is AWESOME!!!!!

Both Hicks and Sentimore can play DE/DT. We need that kind of speed playing against the spread. These guys are perfect. Look as the havoc we wreaked on S. Carolina last year when we put 4 DE's in at one time and speed rushed them the whole second half.

Miles/Chavis are building a defense based on speed and not big, hulking D-Linemen that can't move (see Cody vs. Utah as an example). Yet, we will still have guys like Davenport to put in and stuff the run. We'll rotate 9 or so D-Linemen every game and keep them fresh and put the right guys in based on the situation. We lost a ton of D-Line guys this year and we need to rebuild for the future. Plus, Hicks is a JR and some of these guys will redshirt, thus splitting the impact of the class.

Great move, Les and LSU coaching staff! This is HUGE!!!

Just to be clear, Governor...and I will make this very clear...he has an offer...and yes, that means a commitment from him (possibly this weekend or at the begining of the week...the latter would be for obvious reasons).

His coach vouched for him showing great progress in the character issue area and his grades have improved greatly...yes, he will be a Tiger and we will welcome him.

Stinson goes to Bama...and everyone is happy.

The Bell/Randle/Kelly situation is the one that is still up in the air.
