Not sure about that. Bama has dropped off considerably the past few years. That's the worst QB I've seen at Bama since Saban has been there. He's on par with Brandon Harris for LSU. He looked that bad. Saban has one foot in retirement. Georgia is the new Bama in the SEC.
Saban is done. You can see it in his eyes. The man is in his 70s. It's amazing he even kept his coaching dynasty up this long.

The best case for us would be if he stayed on, not performing up to Saban standards. They could never get rid of him.

So, those of you who say, “Saban is done. You can see it in his eyes,” what are you saying exactly?
Because the comment consists entirely of conclusory BS.
Has he forgotten how to coach?
Forgotten how to recruit?
Lost his competitive desire(*Snort!*)?
Why, exactly, is he “done”?

He lost the advantage of being able to offer what WAS most important to recruits - an opportunity to develop into an NFL player while competing for a national championship every year. I’m not saying he can’t still offer that. But what’s most important to recruits in the NIL era is how much compensation they can get their hands on before they step foot on any campus.

NIL evened the playing field and NS doesnt like it.He
would be the first to twwl you hes a better recruiter than
schemer.ALA had a big advantage when the REC could buy
anybody with hardly any competicion. Now evrybody can do
it leagelly.BK out coached him last year as did the TENN
coach.LSU should`nt have beat him with our roster.

I don't think he's done, but I don't think his teams from now to the year he retires are anywhere near the level that we've become used to at Bama. They'll still be good, maybe great, but they won't be the best. He won't win three titles in four years again. Or even two in four years. Maybe in that aspect, he's done.

It's not that Saban is done, the transfer portal and NIL created parity against Bama. They can no longer hide behind chargers, barbers, etc.....

I think regardless of the portal or NIL they aren't developing players at the rate that they were. They may be losing guys, but the guys in that building aren't being developed the way they once were.

It's always funny to me guys make commits and then still go on other trips. It's like telling a job yeah, I'll take it. Then go on other interviews
It’s actually more like if you take a job and then the company that didn’t hire you takes you out for dinner. Why not? Stay friendly with your other options in case the one you picked falls through.

Saban will retire after 2024.
He will be guaranteed a playoff spot after the playoff expands and it'll be his last hoorah.
No one buys an $18 million dollar home in south Florida to not retire from coaching. ESPN will scoop him up for a 1-2 day workweek payday for 5-10 years after he hangs it up; basically Corso's replacement.

The Brother is in a Special unique health situation, his doctors are in Tx. Colin if was going with playing heart he’d be at LSU, but this is a REAL family situation, not like other posses or hangers on in other recruitments.

Yeah, It's the money he needs. He's doing the right thing for his family.
