I believe what people are saying is don't be so dismissive that Kiffin can find and develop an underrated QB to be at least serviceable.
do i thnk Kiffin is a good coach and can develop a QB, as you are saying? yes, absolutely...

Are you totally incapable to at least admit that?
are you capable to admit that for the vast majority of his career he's had top notch guys to run his offense with, already, vs having to try to develop some no name QB to run the show?

almost every single QB Kiffin has had to work with was very highly recruited guys... he didn't "make" them...
Kid has offers from Michigan and Michigan State as well.
Not sure if any of the P4 schools offering are trying to secure him as the starter, but apparently his talent and abilities have been noted.

yeah, they DEFINITELY are not offering him a chance at being their starter...

Michigan State
oh, then this seals it then... being that this mid to bottom feeding Big Ten school MAY be looking at him as a starting QB (they likely aren't), we DEFINITELY should be considering him for our starting QB spot as well...
you've convinced me... case closed

Chambliss has seemingly made everyone think that Kiffin has routinely taken chicken shite and made chicken salad... he is very much the oddity from Kiffin's career... almost every single QB Kiffin has had to work with was very highly recruited guys..

Clark is legit. Good size, huge arm, can run, seems super athletic. I agree on rolling with him at the 1.
I wouldnt say THAT

i don't get that vibe, and i think he's a great coach, but even the BEST coach of all time (Saban) needed top ranked recruits to achieve sustainable success...
this entire idea of Kiffin can just make anyone great is just retarded... can he make a good QB better? sure... no doubt, we've seen him do that repeatedly... but this Chambliss thing is a one off, yet some here like to think this is the norm for him... it's not...

yeah, i saw him say that, and knew immediately that he clearly doesn't know shite about Clark and is just assuming things based on hive mind speak on these forums...
it wasn't even worth the time to even address how stupid this comment was

I liked the little film I’ve watched from him. I’d be down to him a guarantee for the backup spot with a chance to compete for the starting role

I watched his highlights when his name first popped and he’s definitely got skills you could work with. Fast, twitchy with a cannon for an arm. He’ll need some technique cleaned up but the big issue is adapting to the speed of the game and reading coverages etc.
Medicine has advanced a lot, I know Leavitt’s been getting stem cell treatments and who knows what else. Bet LSU doctors have poured over his records, poked and prodded, talked to his doctors etc. If there’s any question at all they don’t feel he’ll make a full recovery Glasscock ain’t cutting loose of 5 million dollars. Sure things can happen but the doctors must’ve given the thumbs up. It’s just a long recovery injury, depends on the player.
I wouldn’t be shocked if we see more young QBs hit the portal before it ends. They should talk to all of them including the one from USCw. I think Knight is going to OM. Find the young that you evaluate best and bring him in to compete. This is a rebuild year anyway with a brutal schedule. That’s all assuming Leavitt is no bueno.

Offer from UM is good enough for me

He also helped Blake Sims make it to the Natty for Bama

Need 3 options
LSU is struggling to land 1 qb its almost assured that they won’t have 3 QBs next season
We’ll be lucky to get 2
No qb is transferring to be 3rd string and if they are transferring in the spring window they aren’t starter material anyway

already covered Sims... coincidentally, also another highly recruited 4 star guy...
Kiffin absolutely helped Sims' development, not saying he didn't.. but le'ts not act like Sims had never taken a snap at QB... while he may have been a RB, he was also a back up QB, and in HS he was a starter at QB since his Soph year...

so, if this is the case, do you trust Lane's judgement and ability to field the best team possible? b/c it sounds like you are saying that he purposefully didn't do that, at least until injury forced him to roll with Chambliss...
I’m not going that far. Just saying that even if Chambliss was better in camp he would have to be heads and shoulders better given the investment in Simmons. Simmons is a good QB.

no, we can easily get 2... can't promise you they will be starting quality players, especially in the SEC, but we can get 2...

what are you basing this on? b/c his stats, to this point, indicate he's fairly average, at best...
Posted on 1/10/26 at 11:41 am to chRxis
There are a ton of qbs in the portal we will easily get 3

I also think you’re being a little harsh about the Clark kid. Your entire thesis is based on the fact that when he was 17 and 18 years old college recruiters and recruiting services did not notice him. He lacks the elite measurables. Those same recruiters labeled multiple busts as five star can’t miss prospects. It’s not an exact science. What Clark has done is show that playing at the collegiate level, he is a much better quarterback than anyone ever gave him credit for. Now at the age of 20, he is proving himself. I actually think that is more impressive than anybody’s high school recruiting rankings. I’d rather have him on the roster than Colin Hurley for example (who was a 4 star).

I would be happy with a full court press on Longstreet
