Miami has a rich tradition sending guys to the NFL…

…too bad all of those guys were from before Citizen was even born

Cain is only going to be a year and he isn't good. He has no bearing on Citizen.

You and I look at the roster in a 3-4 year window. Many of these recruits don't do that. They look at the roster for next year to see if they can find significant playing time in year 1. In the case of Citizen, it mattered because we have a pretty full roster of RBs, even if Cain and a few others will only be here for 1 year. They see the lack of immediate playing time. There will be more RBs coming out of HS next year. We will be okay. Citizen was a "want" not a "need" in the short-term.

Not shocking. LSU has way too many RBs

Too many average backs. I didn't love the cain take either.

Hope he enjoys playing in front of 12,000 fans on a dump of a campus. Best of luck.

Coaches need to remember every kid that trolls during announcements for when they hit the portal later.

UF hiring a coach from ULL who hires a bunch of LA recruiters losing out on a RB from LA to Miami (who hired a coach later in the process who doesn't have any LA-primary recruiters) is $$$$

Not worth losing him, but close.

You are correct and cain will be here 2 years.

It's a little clogged up now at running back.

I agree. We have a few nice backs, but overall, that “room” is pretty meh. And the Cain take made and still makes no sense to me. And we don’t have any traditional TEs either. The RBs—well, all of our personnel—are plenty good enough if we are really pass-happy, but is Kelly prepare to run a totally different offense than he ever has? I hope so, otherwise there will be a couple of years of “square peg in round hole”ing.

It does in one sense. Remember how well Charbonnet worked out moving to UCLA this season? He was a good back who had a difficult season due to injury problems and likely wouldn’t be the starter at Michigan going forward. He went back home and had a really good bounce-back year in a new situation.

Cain’s situation is almost a carbon copy. He’s playing for his pro future this year, so we will get his best, whatever that is. The fact that the staff took him when they had the chance (which is what you have to do with the portal) tells me they knew they only had an outside chance with Citizen.

As for the quality of our backs, I think it’s hard to say how good they really are with all that was going on here. Bad rotations for two seasons. Terrible O Line. Goodwin was hurt, so we never really saw what he’s capable of. All of the above should improve to some degree this season.

Miami has multiple billionaires bankrolling their program now….so get used to seeing this. Cristobal probably gonna sign a top 3 class next year.
