I've watched Harris highlights and I can see exactly what Saban likes in Harris as a LBer but he will need some time to learn the position and maybe too much time.

I mean we have one of the best teachers of that position so if he were to learn it fast, he could be dangerous in coverage and he's very fast. At the very least he could be a 3rd down rushing type that either rushes the LOS or drops back into coverage. He could be very valuable there. Like a LB/safety with some punch.

He could be a helluva FB/H-back also. I can see value in Harris though, but like you said no real position. Had no idea Parker was a grade risk?

Yeah, it's apparently not quite as good as he had been telling us it was. He's got some work to do senior year.

Starks is a stud and only a hair separates he and Dean imo.

247 has Dean #1 overall ILB and Starks at #3.

Sounds about right.

Starks should be a high 4 Star and top 100 player.

Him or Dean. Really like Stripling, too, but flipping him from A&M out of their own back yard would be a tough row to hoe. Let's see who makes it back to campus this Fall though. Always a pop up guy that no one was really expecting every year.

Yeah, I think Harris will be an Aggie. He’s a bit overrated by the services right now, though I do like him. I just think Tyrion Davis should be ranked higher in-state, and hope that happens with the rankings update. (Shea mentioned possible top 5 RB ranking for Davis, and IMHO that should happen, as its kind of an average year nationally at the position.)

Your comparison of him to Lee is interesting. I wonder what Harris weighs right now?

Yeah, Stripling is the guy who would be the best fit with Sopsher and our current talent IMHO. I think he’d have a better career at LSU and is making a mistake with Aggie. LSU has the big NT types that could free him up.

Young is the more physical of the two though and has enough talent to be top 100 nationally.I hope LSU is going all out for him now.

Ty Davis is the best overall back in the state imo.

Legit 6-0 225-230 with 4.5 speed (actual combine time)

Those are Fournette type measurables.

Elite...he should be the highest of 4 stars if not 5 Stars. Top 100 for sure.

When your last four are SEC teams and you have danced with LSU as long as he has, there is no real bond. I think it would be next to impossible to see him join the Tiger family.

I just kind of see those 2 as pretty similar. Lee plays WR, Harris plays WR/CB. Both are fairly close in size, within 10-15 pounds or so and both 6'1-6'2 range. Lee is just a much much more polished WR, but he's still enough of an almost jumbo athlete to end up at safety or LB. Harris is just pretty raw, and again could play him in a number of positions: WR, S, LB...but he's going to take a while to learn any of those positions in my opinion.

To me, you take 1 of either in our class, but not both with the numbers crunch we are in. If you can find an extra spot, absolutely take both.

I think Emery may have the most upside of any RB in the nation including Sanders, but agree with you that Davis should be top 100. Barton Simmons really screwed up that rating a few months ago. The guy is a hoss.

There are some top 100 recruits every year that will take years to be ready to play at a championship level, while I think Davis will be a stud right away complimenting CEH. I hope Shea is right that he gets rated as a top 5 RB.

Outside of the obvious position concern, how do you feel about the Oline now and near future?

I agree. I think when they took McCollom, they only have room for one of those two, with Lee the priority since he’s the better WR. I’d rather spend that scholarship on a pass rusher.

If this past week's influx of commitments is "lesson learned" why DID WE NOT KNOW THIS LAST YEAR?

The early signing period is still a relatively new format fknutz. Everyone is still adapting to it. Couple that with the class size cap that started last year and anyone can see that recruiting tactics are changing.

I wouldn't take more than 2 WR's in the 2019 class. 2020 is where you load up on WRs.

We may only take 1 even if Palmer and Lee both commit and Lee ends up at another position. We really just have a boatload of current WRs, with none of them being seniors.

When will we ever get kids with home state pride? I guess I'm just old school.
