LINK Top 100 player, we’ve offered him, so what are the chances we land him? this would be a real nice pickup after the Banks decommit

People are already alluding to the timing of the Banks decomittment and this one.

For the recruitniks, would he be an upgrade over Banks?

Starting a connection to John Bosco would not be bad either.

Banks is really solid, but no question Steele is better. He is elite level.

Rankings wise, a huge upgrade going from 29 to 6 in CB rankings, but Banks has come on strong lately. Haven't really watched anything on Steele seeing as I thought he was a lost cause

Bama insiders are claiming that Banks and Lee are just hoping for spots in Bama's class.

Very wrongfully, they have nothing to do with each other, this is just convenient timing.

I would say we are trailing Florida for Steele anyways

I think it's pretty obvious Lee is waiting on a spot at Bama. He was set to commit to LSU before the season started and LSU has far exceeded expectations.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. He was “due to commit” a long time ago and hasn’t. That makes me think Saban told him something to keep him on the hook for now. I don’t like it at all.

agree given that he considers them DBU.

Steele also seems to be more similar to the kind of guys we've been using versus Banks (6'1" vs. 5'10")

Plus, he cited stability. Thanks to our fanbase and their BS "hot seat" talk, LSU looked unstable entering into the season.

I'll be surprised if we're in it with him. He visited us in the spring and had us in his top 14, but dropped us when he released a top 8 prior to committing to USC.

LINK

Of course, I guess it's possible that he dropped us only because of a perceived lack of stability, which is becoming less and less of an issue each week.

USC is still very much in it. He's just concerned (rightfully so) about the direction of this program. Helton and his staff are not developing the talent they're bringing in, and I don't blame a kid for going elsewhere. Helton needs to go.

Well if he is looking for development, we are the one, the only DBU, so there is that...
